Well this is the 1st video that has kind of given me a step in the right direction with creating a braided loc..its very difficult to come across anything for braiding a wool dreadlock plait(if i got that correct) & not meaning the installation so thank you !

Goodness gravy, those are so pretty at the end 😍. I love the braided texture with dreads! I don't know what it is about it, but it makes a set pop out even more than if they were just straight up straight dreads. Dumb question, but have you ever done curly dreads? Like Tina Tiainen style?

Thank you! I love the braided ones ^_^ but no, I’ve never done a curly set! I have watched her videos and seen them, but I have curly hair so I think I always avoid curls haha I did send a set through the washer and dryer and now they are all shrunken and crinkly though 🙃

When they’re installed in the hair, I usually dilute some shampoo in a squeeze bottle and apply only to the roots and no conditioner. They take a long time to dry and get very heavy so I usually take them out and wash them with watered down shampoo in cold water and hang them to dry. I wouldn’t recommend using a washing machine and dryer (I did it once with an old set and they shrunk up and got very crinkly)

I have white wool, and I'm thinking to dye it with regular ammonium hairdye, because it as same as I using for my hair, so colour will much and look natural... But, I'm afraid if its going to work or may destroyed wool dreadlocks. What do you think about that?

I have used professional colours on my wool dreadlocks in the past, including colours that need peroxide to process. It hasn’t destroyed the dreadlocks and it worked well for colouring to certain tones. I would just test it on a small dreadlock or an extra piece to check how it works with your product!

Did you apply the semi permanent on while they were wet or dry?

I usually apply the dye when they are dry for maximum colour pay off. But you can apply when they are damp if you aren't sure if you have enough dye as this can help the dye go further.

It could be faded out with hot water and anti-dandruff shampoo, but the colour holds on fairly well from my experience. I would redye them maybe every 2-3 months just to keep the colour vibrant because the Australian sun causes fading too.

How long do you keep these in for at a time?

I usually keep them in 1-2 weeks depending on the weather and how oily my scalp gets. I’ve trained my hair to only need to be washed every week, so I don’t find it necessary to wash more than that. However you can wash your hair with them in if you prefer, I know some people leave their dreadlock extensions in for up to four weeks, and then they redo them so their natural hair doesn’t begin to knot at the roots.

I find it to be more like an adventurers background music personally, but I just enjoyed how it sounded for this video! :)
