It will screwed to the base of the tv stand .. you could also use a wood glue to paste it..

DIY super with less tools ..very helpful. Can you share the staining and painting details . Link fo the paint/ wax used should be helpful.

It is a ordinary wood stainer available in home depot ..wood point ..stainer www.homedepot.com/b/Paint-Interior-Wood-Stains/N-5yc1vZbo8p We used red mahogany.. you could use whatever color you want but please be closer to the natural color of the wood. Polyurethane is used on the top of the stainer. www.homedepot.com/b/Paint-Wood-Finishes-Polyurethane-Wood-Finish/N-5yc1vZaqst Please let me know if you any questions.

Thanks for your comments. The TV stand was purchased from Walmart in the year 2011. I do not think that Walmart carries the same model. I have given a link to a similar model from Walmart. www.walmart.com/ip/Better-Homes-Gardens-Crossmill-Collection-TV-Stand-Console-Cabinet-for-TVs-up-to-65-Weathered-Finish/34703231 IKEA does offer a more cost-effective TV stand model; please check out IKEA too. The decorative piece was purchased from Lowes. I link shared here will give you lots of options . You could purchase what you want. www.lowes.com/pl/Appliques-sconces-Moulding-accents-Moulding-Moulding-millwork/1927459336 One more idea in India they sell wooden moulding like sungu and chakara that could be substituted too.
