The extremely high quality, light weight and practicality of this camper puts many commercially manufactured ones to shame! The meticulously precise detail, outstanding craftsmanship and very high quality materials combine to create this truly exceptional and beautiful camper which exceeds its owner's expectations in every respect. I believe that if this camper could be manufactured in volume without losing any of it's exemplary qualities, there would be a considerable demand for it. Thank you for sharing this absolute joy of a camper and introducing it's highly interesting creator and Pilot.

It’s such a grea design. You should apply for a design patent. I was also thinking of making this but with integrated solar in the roof panel. Still gotta figure out the air channels needed to keep solar panels cool with diffusers or something like it. What did you use for the cross beam on the pop up?

Phenomenal build!!!!! Thx so much for posting it. I look forward to additional updates and more content. I've watched this video like 5 times tonight alone. I would really like to see him go from 1/2 to full. I have a 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 Crew Cab LTZ-2 with a 6' 6" bed & 6.2L (VERY rare in that year) which I love. GREAT power, comfort, room, ride, and MPG (as long as I keep my foot out of it) that only has 60k on it & I'm the 2nd owner. LOVE this truck especially since it's paid for. I've been looking at every pop-top camper for months. Almost settled on the FWC Project-M...until I saw the price (for what you get) with a few options and especially the wait time of 14 months! So after watching Ambition Strikes expedition build, DualEx's wedge builds, and finally this one...I realized I wanted to do something myself but as a shell NOT a slide-in. That said, I just picked up a like-new 8' fiberglass tonneau cover that I plan to start my build with/around as my roof. The question is whether to go wedge, full, or hybrid-full like this one? Since I'm unsure how his hybrid-full works will likely go full or wedge. Wedge seems easier but full is so NICE. I wished the tonneau cover roof was longer like his (9') but I really like the thoughts of the factory-style roof for many reasons & think it should be long enough for my needs. Thanks again!

That is a spectacular build! I've recently had a look at several commercially available campers like this, all of which are a wedge design and just don't suit the way I use a roof top tent. Mainly because I; a) like to be able to sit up in bed and, b) normally have my wife along. Clambering in from the head of a bed is much more awkward than over the foot, as we're used to doing. You've not only achieved a very practical camper, but also a professional finish.

I have questions on those gas struts. If you could explain them in video would be great. That is a lot of weight (180#'s) for them. How long are they and what is the weight rating? How did you figure that out?

Great questions! The gas struts are crucial for managing the weight, and I totally get the curiosity. I'll add that to the video request list!

Hey Andrew; great job! I’m guessing you had someone sew the fabric for you as the sewing machine must be stout. Did you? Roughly what was the cost for the material and fabrication? Thanks!

John had access to a industrial sewing machine and did the work with a friend. Not sure on costs but pretty cheap.
