DIY OSB hanging cabinet ( quick and dirty )
In this video I make a cheap cabinet for my workshop out of OSB material. It is hanged on the wall with a french cleat system.
Tools and materials:
Table saw: amzn.to/2RBf0nT
Skil drill: amzn.to/2ykA3Cx
Circular saw: amzn.to/2pJu9Hf
Nail gun: amzn.to/2pH69UY
Piano hinge: amzn.to/2yqnxkL
Corner clamps: amzn.to/2CkeK7G
I would really like to thank www.bmtools.gr/ for sending the air compressor I use in the video.
The air compressor is this one:

It was a little flimsier than I expected. I had to add a 2x2 piece of wood to the bottom on the rear side in order to stabilize it better kzread.infoUgkxXTh-lz-8W6GcB219vTLp27-MxbZYObBX . It is also starting to bow a little at the outer wall ( I've had it up for about 6 months), I've already had a shelf tumble down because of the bow and the fact that the little shelf brackets are quite short. I went out to home depot and got some longer ones so that the shelves don't tumble down again. Overall, it looks very nice for the price and it holds a lot ( I use it as a pantry). I am very satisfied with my purchase. I just strongly suggest reinforcing it before putting it up.
I love your edit. Everything that matters and nothing that doesn’t. I also love the build. It’s so liberating to realize how much of carpentry is just building boxes, and while osb may not last 100 years, you can make beautiful (imho, I know this is contested) functional storage and furniture specifically for your own needs. I love how you sized the cabinets by the things you were storing in them. Always a perfect fit and less measuring, planing and hoping. Love the bungies and lever as well. Looks like a lot of fun.

Yes I am a copy cat. I am going to build your exact cabinet. The size and design are perfect for all the bits and sanding drums and accessories that collect around my drill press. Thanks man. Just the inspiration I needed.

Loved watching this. Are there dimensions or materials listed anywhere? Interested in the types of screws and the width of the OSB. Also, were you drilling with a countersinking bit when you made those pilot holes?
@ScrapwoodCity
5 жыл бұрын
Thanks. No specific dimensions, just tried to fit a space in my shop. The OSB I think it was 18mm. No counter sinking, it was just a shop project!
Nice. I've just made myself a paint storage also. ☺

Not dirty, but simple and effective. You are quite skilled. Is it the tool, or do you have extraordinary screws? ☺️ I always pre-drill, cant get my screws in just like that.

@ScrapwoodCity
