I wonder if it ran slower, it wouldn't pick up so much coolant. Give it a chance to drip down more. I've seen indutrial washing machines like parts washers with the disc type skimmer. If I'm not mistaken, they run at least half that speed. It's been a while since I've seen one.

It seems to work well , and does not pick up much coolant. But a longer arm or slower speed may be better.
add a fish air pump and air stone, stops bacteria

While an aerator may impede the bacteria growth, The oil which the skimmer is meat to remove would still be present. The idea is to remove the Oil, therefore also removing the bacteria.

@@CNC4XR7 I was a tool maker for 31 years. We always used skimmers and aerators. Make all the fun you want, it just shows that you're a jerk. Only the guy that knows it all can never learn anything new.
