- 2.5" x WOF (about 40") strips of various fabrics. We used Jingle Pops: www.shabbyfabrics.com/Search....
- 1 box of Dritz Satin Pins (400 count). We used these: www.shabbyfabrics.com/dritz-s...
- 1 styrofoam egg (about 3 7/8 inches tall) found at most craft stores.
* Due to their popularity, Hoffman Jingle Pops may be sold out. Jelly Rolls (2½ inch fabric strips) can be used as an alternative.

    @@ShabbyFabrics I absolutely love this on my tree! Your directions are so great, and it was so easy with the little 2 1/2" strips, which I invested in awhile ago. I used a gold bow and hanger and it is just precious. Thank you so much and once I get some pictures of these on my tree I am sharing them on FB.

    ---- An easy way to determine the center is to wrap a rubber band around the 'egg' and lightly draw a line around the middle.

    I recommend you first use a flat 2-1/2” fabric square to go over the top. then start your layering of folded fabrics.

    That is cute. Ive made one of your round styrofoam ball ornaments but i found that 2 1/2 inch squares were a bit small so i went up to 3" an its working out better.

    These work much better with 2" squares. Pin an open square on pointed end then pin the triangles around in rows.

    On our eggs, 4 worked very well but if you get a slightly larger egg, you may need more than four around the wider areas.

    Yes you are more than welcome to use that kind of styrofoam instead. Anything you feel like would secure it you can use. Make sure to use your pins to hold it in place. - Yajaira

    Mary Kay Harman our eggs measure 4 inches from tip to tip, but this technique can be applied to any size egg. You may just need more squares to go around the wider section of a larger egg 😊

    Ours was 4 inches from top to bottom but you can adapt this project to fit any size you get :)

    Do you mean press as you go? You can definitely do that if you'd like! If you are wanting to finger press without and iron, you can do that as well, but the pieces won't lay as flat or sharp :)

    We used ABOUT 34 squares per pinecone, however, it can really depend on your spacing and layering :)
