DIY Marker Storage out of Cardboard!! Making My Own Desk Organizer

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Here is the journey of me making my own marker case! This was a fun project to do and it's something completely different than what I usually do. I'm really happy with the end result and I hope you like it as well!
If you recreate it, please link me to it! I would love to see it :)
Twitter post with pictures of the dimensions for both the case and the magazine holder:

Inspirations:
Baylee Jae's old copic case: • Video (on her old ZkittyZ channel)
New copic case: • NEW COPIC CASE (part 1)
• The Copic Case is Fini... (Part 2)
My Life in a Bullet: • DIY Stationery Organiz...
Materials used:
Cardboard 70cm x 100cm (you can get it quite cheap in your local hobby shop)
White gouache paint (cheap poster paint)
Glue (I used Pattex Transparent contact glue)
utility knife (mine is an olfa knife)
Varnish (for acrylic paint)
Ruler (stainless steel or else your knife will cut into the ruler)
Cutting mat (you can just use an old piece of cardboard if you don't have one)

Well… It has been a while, hasn’t it… It’s been so long since I made a video that I had to re-learn myself how to edit 😅 So, sorry for the long break! But at least it’s a long video to make up for it 😊 Just as a note: I did make a small support piece for the top shelf so that it has something to lean onto. If you do want to create this storage, I suggest that you make the top piece a little bit wider so that instead of being pressed between the 2 side pieces, it sits on top of the 2 sides. But overall, I’m really happy with the end result and I hope that you agree! And for anyone who’s wondering; I do have a lot of videos planned and I am working on a lot already behind the scenes. They’re just taking a while to complete because 1) They are time consuming projects and 2) I’m really busy with uni. Hope you can understand 😊 If something isn’t clear or if you have any suggestions on this please let me know so that I can improve!!

Lovely idea thanks for sharing. A small paint roller is a really fast way to apply paint and means you get a fast thin layer sponge or fluffy depending on the paint .

Hi @AnLearnsArt loving your videos. I also love Baylee Jae! I do a lot of embroidery on my channel but I also do art. So I’ve decided to create a separate channel for that. I need to make one of these marker holders!

Thank you so much for making this video! I have been searching for ages for a good case to buy online or a good box to DIY but I couldn't find anything that was a good price. I wasn't really sure how I would make one myself but then I found your video so I'm going to try this tomorrow and see how it goes! Im sure I have some cardboard somewhere! I was so excited for you when it turned out perfect, great video! :)

Thank you!! This comment made me really happy 😊 I hope that yours works too! Is there anywhere I can follow you so that I can see the final result? And if you're also going to make the slots like I did, I would like to suggest one thing I wish I did: When you're glueing the shelves to the back piece, glue the vertical ones first with their solid sides (the sides without the slits) against the back piece. that way your vertical shelves will have their solid side to the front of the case. I did it the other way around and when there are a lot of heavy pens in 1 slot, the bottom of the shelves tend to sag a little bit. I hope this helps :)

@@AnLearnsArt I'm glad you liked the comment! Im just glad you made the video :) I made it a few days ago and it turned out quite nicely! It's not perfect by any means because some of my pieces I cut a little wonky I think haha but I didn't have any more cardboard so I just went with it. But I'm really happy with the case I ended up having so thanks again! I'm on instagram so I can send you a photo if you want? My name is hollyyjohnstone :)
