This DIY Loft Bed was made out of construction scaffolding that I bought from Home Depot. This is a really easy way to make a lofted bed and the scaffolding can still be used as scaffolding.

I think it depends on your weight and how much time you watch Netflix on it, also be careful cause if you fall asleep while watching Netflix you might fall down the bed and brake your neck

I can imagine this design becoming the next college fad, especially for art students, you can hang an easel off of one outside end; just a thought. Another great idea.

There is also a version of the scaffold end frames that is adjustable, anywhere from 3 feet to 5 feet, so that it would not leave a gap depending on which size mattress you selected. Most stores don't stock it, but usually the pro desk can order them in for you. With the 5 foot frames, if the goal was to re-use as much as possible, it may have been better to simply purchase a second (and third) scaffold deck. 3 of them would be just under 60 inches, which would be the size for a queen mattress.

Great idea but I would drill a few holes in the plywood to give the bottom of the mattress some ventilation so it doesn't get funky and moldy.

I’m trying to figure out how to develop and build my own portable loft bed with ease if disassembly. This is so inspiring that I’m willing to try some semblance of the design. The only thing that I didn’t like aesthetically was the stabilizing crossbars in the back, but the ingenuity and innovative transformation/repurposing was very convincing. I think I may reconsider using scaffolding to achieve my LEGO loft bed design because of all the options you presented. Thank you. 👌💪🏽✅

Really cool design, but you should make sure the mattress is able to ventilate from the bottom. If a mattress is put on a closed of surface like you did here there's a high risk of mold forming inside the mattress.
