Sorry if i'm confusing anyone with this build, I should have explained it better. The switch and plug are not on the front, they are located on the back. The stand is meant to look simple and clean at first sight.

lol well if you need the lamp you turn it to you, that was my thoughts :). I think the switch and plug can easily be relocated. Thank you :D

DIY Creators , I don't want to seem slow, but I am trying to understand the angle of the tablet slot. It seems to be leaning forward, wouldn't it look better and give cleaner lines if the slot was leaning towards the headphone stand. That way you can use it as a way to access the tablet's screen for any of the programs.

so I understand
I just wanted to let you know that you single handedly inspired me to do wood working and other diy projects as a major hobby. I've been going strong for a year and have no plans to let up. Thank you for your great work and inspiration.
Awesome build. The end result is deceptively simple -- a lot of work went into the clean modern end result! A headphone stand is on my to-build list. After this one, I'm going to have to think really hard to figure out a way to somehow take it to the next level. You've set the bar high!

Built in wireless charging
Loving this channel, youre not using crazy expensive tools. Not building confusing items. Everything you build seems easy for a DYI average creator. Some channels build DYI stuff and once you start watching it. You become overwhelmed with how to do it. You have easy projects and explain stuff quite well. Kee up the great work!
I know this vid is 2 years old but you got a sub for this. I wanted to build my own gaming setup for my man cave and I wanted to go about making my own headphone stand and you just inspired me. I'm about to go binge watch your content for ideas now.
You're a cool dude !

Mate, I've watched a bunch of your videos but I love this one the most purely from the design aspect. I just love the form, and shape of this stand. It reminds me of those intercom microphones from the 60s/70s with sleek lines yet a solid feel to the base. The multi-functionality aspect of it, being a basic LED lamp and having the laptop holder is great. The plexiglass accent takes the design to a whole new level, and the only mods I could think that would make it even more epic would be a USB charging port or adding wireless charging. I reckon with all those packed into a headphone stand you could easily sell them on sites like Etsy for $50-60. Now I just need to get myself all those crazy tools you got so I can start building some sick projects like yours! ;)
Man, I keep coming back to your videos. Any time I search for something specific, I scroll through many videos before finding the one that looks best, and it ends up being yours. Thanks for sharing.
This guy is my inspiration! Thanks mate

Its actually a stand/lamp at the same time.. so cool. With all those tools, building is much easier. I wish i could build my own workshop someday. I love doing diy..
you integrated that ad in so flawlessly! actually something thats handy

are you selling these?
Dude, it's impressive how you've a tool for everything!!
This came out exceptionally well. Looks better than most anything you can find out there. Another great video.
I really enjoy the way you present the projects on your channel. I like the fact that you describe in voice-over all of the details. Looking forward to the next project.
Always enjoy your KZread creations...or your creations for KZread...!!
Watching you cut wood on the band saw was weirdly satisfying to watch. Cool build!
Love this! I would want 2 usb chargers built into the back as well.
Sir, you are an inspiration, I don't understand leds at all but I will learn!
I got a $300 Chromebook like 2 years ago or so, but around the price it defiantly is my favorite laptop for school, home, etc. Sure it has its limitations as a laptop but damn it is a powerful, durable, and long lasting for a 16 gb ram 1080p Chromebook. I just got done building a computer so my laptop now is for traveling or looking up wikis for games. But this project is so cool, I am planning of making something similar to organize my old desk and make look more acceptable.
Wow. This came out amazingly. Also, you are the first creator that I have seen use the sawdust from your cuts and wood glue as wood filler, and I will absolutely be using that going forward!
Liked the bottom lighting and color selection used... Good work
Dan, Glenn! So nice! I love this build! Thanks for sharing!!
Some of the best diy vids I've watched on KZread. Very good instructor and very well explains each step. I would personally like to have a large space for tools and a work area to make some of these desks and smaller projects from this channel.
OK...everytime I search KZread for project ideas.....you always have a video of you making just what I need! I love your channel!
This is incredible...I don't even need one and seeing this makes me want to build one. Great design and execution like always Glen. Your videos are quickly becoming a must watch for me. Keep up the great work!
Another piece of art. Anyway, I think it's much nicer and cleaner if you route the switch button and power cable to the back of the stand instead of the front.

Thanks. The switch is on the back. There is nothing on the front.

im with you there. I made one kinda like this a month ago. check out "Natural Nerds". anyway this was more to my liking. il think il go out to the garage today and whip one up. making the slot for the laptop not go to the edge tho and instead making it into a phonedock.
Really nice job... yea the stain looks good
That band saw looks beast
You have some of the most creative videos in the diy category of KZread. Nice job
Man, I'm always amazed by how you come up with all of these stylish projects and turn them into such professionally looking results!
Loving what you do bro. Seeing all you work has ignited my love for wood working and building things.
Such a cool design to just do off the fly! Really impressive and to add the light base is a really neat unique bit!
Great design. Love the shape and the lights. One suggestion though would be to make the notch for the laptop behind the headphone stand. That way you can see the headphones upfront and the post light would be visible. Definitely building something like this for my son. Thanks for the great idea and providing inspiration to build it.

+David Thanks man, I know the way I showed the video might be a bit confusing. However the laptop is in the back and the headphone is in the front. So when you look at it you see the headphone and you also see the laptop. the light is kind of hidden so you have to turn it around when you want to use the lamp.
I give this video a *stand* -ing ovation!

Incredible project! I haven’t seen anything like this on other channels. I love the plexiglass sandwiched between the wood with the light inside. Brilliant.
Beautiful piece.

this has got to be one of the cleanest builds I've seen in days. Excellent job!
Very nice! I love the improvisation! Definitely going to try to build something like this.
Really nice love the way you incorporate the led lights. Awesome project thanks buddy.
Such a clean and pleasant build, and if I had the tools and experience I would do that for my Chromebook. But honestly I loved the video, thank you!
Seeing all of this makes me wan to go and build them. They look so nice man. Way better than store bought
lol i was gonna say the same about the power but as you say man its down to everyone's preference. still looks good mate.always very clear videos
I like the stain, this is gorgeous!
You did a great job, very clean and simple
The turned out pretty nicely.

pretty similar design but with different layout and an additional use! similar to DIY Perks Creation. Edit: I like it!
Awesome build, I'm a complete newbie and found some steps confusing. Also, I don't have all those tools I would love to get some advice on how to achieve similar results with: 1. Circular Saw and Kreg ACC cut jig 2. Makita router kit 3. Multi Tool
*one of the finest headphone i've ever seen*
pro tip, when using wood glue to glue pieces like that together cover in glue as normal and sprinkle some salt on it. It reduces the pieces shifting as you put clamp pressure on it.
Came out nice. Good work!
your creativity is amazing. using simple materials and ingenuity you make something beautiful. very well done!

Looks amazing!
Awsome build
so in love with this design !
I don't have such talent but I sure do enjoy watching these videos. Do you make such great items for sale? They are the BEST I have seen. Gorgeous!!!
Great video, mate. Love your work and very inspiring. It may just sway me to get a band saw! I need to justify it!
Nice job Glen! I've been watching you for some time and just wanted to give you a shoutout of encouragement. Your designs, woodworking skills and video edits are all improving. As always, the explanations are smooth and easy to follow. Thanks for putting out these videos, I can only imagine the work you put in after you just make the stuff. It's already a sacrifice to find the time to do projects -it's a triple protect to video it before and edit after. Somehow, you are blessed to be so prolific. Be well. Peace.
