I got the rooms audio headphone stand back in the day, when I bought the Fostex TH-900 MKII. It was the only stand that was high enough to provide enough space the the cables not to be angled in a weird way, when touching the ground. Basically the height of that stand was the defining criteria for buying it. It’s also sturdy and heavy enough to not fall by touching it accidentally.

Hi Joe! Your reviews are absolutely amazing and I'm thankful I came across your channel. Truly great stuff. I'm curious if you would offer your opinion. I've been on the hunt to find a headset that is high tier in terms of competitiveness for FPS (footsteps in COD/APEX) while also delivering great comfort. Unfortunately I have had to return some pretty pricey headsets so far. Nova pro wireless were faulty and the comfort with the ear pads wasn't great. Turtle beach stealth pro's were literally giving me a headache within a few minutes. Finally i turned to the VZR Model One's and while they are pretty amazing, I'm finding that they are also getting uncomfortable after a couple hours playtime. My previous headset is ROCCAT Elo air's so of course its quite the step up from that. But I'm guessing my head is just used to the clamp force (which is very weak compared to the above headsets.) ALSO might I add, I love your EQ tuning for MW and if you ever get the time, making a video for Apex EQ tuning might be a great video! I've done tons of research and I can't find a solid content creator that has created a universal tune for Apex like you have done with COD. CHEERS!

True public service, great video! Had a stand make a dent in the headband of my Focal Elex, another one damage the pad of my ZMF Verite and another one woudln’t fit my Hifiman Arya. Stands are quite important, but lately I prefer to rest my phones in their case just in case and use a smaller stand for the headset being used during the day for work or gaming.

You really need to get a deburring tool! We use them all the time on stamped out metal that is always razor sharp on one side especially the 304 stainless like that looks to be! It's a goofy little tool with the hooked ball thing on the end it spins around so you can deburr all kinds of angles!

I have just watched a couple of "Best headphone stands" videos, and honestly, they made me cringe. Then I found yours. Yours is the only one I have found that actually considers the headphones and not how fancy the stand is. Thank you for taking the time to explain everything and the merits, or lack thereof, of each stand. It was really helpful. Best wishes, Mary

My LG monitor has a hook on the back but it's sharply angled. I used that as a mounting platform for a piece of tube insulation secured with duct tape. Works like a charm as an inconspicuous headphone mount. No 'showcasing' it but it won't ever get in my way or get tipped over. Also it's out of sight for potential burglars.

I have Omega shape stands and do use it for the HD600 as well. The reason is that on other only-hang-headband stand, the HD600 remains clampy on my head which is my problem with it, so the stand at least helps to keep it open.

Hello, for the astro A40 what type of headset stand would you recommend. Originally I was planning on choosing an omega stand but after your breakdown I'm looking elsewhere. With the A40s I'm concerned about the headband getting worn by most traditional stands.

I got a hook holder on my desk, it came with it in the box and it works perfectly, mostly just lay my headset on the desk tho when going to bed. Just gotten myself the Nova 7 for PC because i wanted it all black and needed something that would arrive quick after my HS80s battery died. Wanted something with bluetooth and a longer lasting battery, HS80 Max was not available til october tho. Its a good fitting headset but the sound is not as full as my HS80 was, it just had a wider sound profile, atleast it feels like it.

Just one suggestion - depending on your headset headband thickness/material... banana holder. I bought a thick, extremely sturdy, all-metal one from Amazon for 8 dollars, and not only does it perfectly hold my 500 dollar Bang & Olufsen Beoplay Portal but it does so without scrunching up the headband, being extremely sturdy, and lookin' incredibly expensive. If you need a headphone stand for an environment with satin/brushed metal details (as is my PC/home office) then there's no better cost-benefit as long as your headband agrees with the hook's dimensions.

The omega shaped rests don't really do your headphones any service as they will compress your pads. It probably doesn't really matter too much but when you're first spending money on something pointless at least make sure it doesn't damage your headphones in any way I guess.

I have an hook headphone stand 3m’d to the underside of my desk. Used it forever. But I recently got the Epos H6Pro and after a day or two I realized the headband on the set would indent where it hangs on the hook. So now I just lay it on my desk cause I wasn’t sure long term how much it would weaken the headband.

My main is an omega style but I didn’t realize the different widths when buying. The one I have is a bit too narrow for my Sundara, plus I’m not overly happy with the height as I keep my wire plugged in to the headphone, I’m always worried it will ruin the wires due to the (slight) bend caused.

Or just go with Z's stuff, a yoga block. Yoga blocks are good as long as your headphone can swivel in up and down, which most are. And they definitely are always wide enough to accommodate basically anything you have. Not to mention they're cheap and comes with basically any color you want. I've been storing my headphones in a few yoga blocks, and they held up just fine in the last 2 years along with my pads. So yeah, yoga blocks people, don't sleep on it, both figuratively and literally I guess, ask me how I know.
