You had me with the knots. Excellent background, worthwhile for any scale project. Nice job of editing. Succinct, non-repetitious narrative. Top drawer. Thank you!

Great video. That simple formula helps me figure out the slope. Now I’ll get it right :)

Hey friend, I’m putting in a 540 sq.ft. paver patio in my backyard. It’s my first time doing this big of a project but I love the challenge. I’ve viewed a ton of videos on this topic before finding yours and I must say you explained more in 7:40 min. than all the other videos combined. Nice job, keep it up! And thank you!

Thank you for your video. Very well done. There is another guy on KZread “Essential Craftsman” and he has a video called “ using a string line like a pro”. Thought you might think it could be helpful. But your video is fantastic and thorough.

This is perfect timing ... I have been cutting out a huge platform out of sand on my land for a base for a big she and then a large concrete pad in the shed and also out the front of the shed as a parking and working area. I have a Topcon rotating laser and my digger receiver just arrived... for my PC60 Komatsu digger... arriving in a week or so is a Terex PT50 and and I have the slope of the sand about 80% ok but low by about 2-3 in one corner... and 2 feet in another ... for my first ever laser job for my own land ... I picked a good one ! Cheers man... from New Zealand... fly down and give us a hand !

The first knot is called an 'overhand knot on a bite', which you then used to tie a 'girth hitch' ;)

The content in those videos is amazing. On a side note, have you thought about doing meditation videos. Something about the tone of your voice is very relaxing 👍

what benchmark did you use for this exact job? did you go off a slab or the threshold of a door ? im just curious

This was based on a mock-up, for a patio were typically going off of a step down from a door threshold, or 2” below siding as a starting point for something like this.
