    Thank you for this easy to follow video tutorial and pattern! I particularly loved your Kitchener stitch explanation and demonstration. It was very clear. I’m currently in progress with this hood/neck warmer and when I found your pattern, I actually frogged a completed toque I had made for myself because I loved the yarn and realized I’d get waaay more use out of the hood and neck warmer than I would the toque. I’m also an elementary school teacher in Canada who loves cosy knitwear for outdoor supervision 😉

    Thank you for your comment! I know all the elementary teachers need this!!! I live near by the elementary school, I always walk around the school with my dog. So I see teachers standing in the field supervising!! This hoodie neck warmer is so warm, but it's a bit too heavy for me. Next time I would knit this with much thinner yarn, like #4 maybe... Good luck and enjoy knitting!

    I've never knitted in the round, I am so nervous! I like your work and I would like to do it as well, I only fear that I might make it too small, I am not sure I understood how many knits I should cast on...so, if for instance, if the head circumference is 58 cm (23 inch), how many stitches should I cast on? I am also working on 8 mm needles, not 10. My gauge for a 10 cm swatch (3.9 in) is 14 stitches. Can you help please?

  • @BeginnersLUCKraft

    @BeginnersLUCKraft

    Жыл бұрын

    Thank you for your comment :) You don't need to worry about your head circumference, but you need to worry about your neck measurement. Because you will increase stitches after the neck, and you will know whether it's big enough or not. But if you don't start with enough casts for neck, it will be too tight and uncomfortable. So I need your actual neck measurement and your desired length for your neck to start with. Let me know!

    I'm confused about the prep row. In the written and video instructions it looks like you only knit flat on one half of the hood but not the other half, before starting in the round again. I'm trying to make it make sense! Help~!!😄 Also,if I wanted to do the hood in a 2x2 rib instead of garter,how would I do the increases while staying in pattern? I'm not a fan of garter stitch at all 🤷‍♀️

  • @BeginnersLUCKraft

    @BeginnersLUCKraft

    Жыл бұрын

    OK, let me answer your question. First, after the round neck RIB, you will knit in flat. My written pattern says IR1(RS): YB SLI1P, K1, M1L, K UNTIL 1 ST BEFORE NEXT M, M1R, K1, SM, K1, MRL, "REP INCREASING AT THE MARKERS, KNIT UNTIL LAST 2 STS, M1R, K1, P1" Within quotations Repeat increasing at the Markers means, You have to increase at every single markers until the other side of edge. So you have to knit in flat from edge to edge. I was a bit lazy that I didn't write them all. So IR1(RS): YB SLI1P, K1, M1L, K UNTIL 1 ST BEFORE NEXT M, M1R, K1, SM, K1, MRL, K UNTIL 1 ST BEFORE 2ND M, M1R, K1, SM, K1, MRL, THEN K UNTIL 1 ST BEFORE LAST M, M1R, K1, SM, K1, MRL, IR2(WS): ALL PURL REP IR1 & IR2 UNTIL YOUR DESIRE LENGTH And 2nd question, This is a bit complicated to write it down. Can you wait a bit? If you can wait, I can make a tutorial for you. Let me know! Yuko

    @@BeginnersLUCKraft Thank you for going into so much detail to answer my questions ! I can definitely wait,and would love seeing a tutorial on this from you ~!! I kind of worked this out once doing a funnel neck raglan sweater that was,, I think a 4x2 rib. It was tricky doing the increases AND stay8ng in pattern but I figured it out(although I got very frustrated lol). It was a pattern I made up in my head and of course I didn't write down what I did lol..... Since I'm making this hood as a gift I want to get it right,so yes! a tutorial would be awesome... As always~thank you so much Yuko~!! 💛🧶🥢

    the start cast on is 46 but how to divide this by 4, when in fact half of 46 is 23 so we will put a marker halfway, and how about the 23 stitches left on each side? how many stitches so we could place the marker?

  • @BeginnersLUCKraft

    @BeginnersLUCKraft

    10 ай бұрын

    Count 12 sts from the begin marker, then add 1 marker (side marker), count 11 sts from this side marker, then add 1 marker (half back marker), and count 12 sts from this back marker, and add the other side marker. You should have 11 sts to the end. This is the best you can do!

  • @BeginnersLUCKraft

    @BeginnersLUCKraft

    Thank you for your comment! You don't really have to divide complete even for each section. I probably divided, 12 / 11 / 11 / 12 = 46, something like that. Also the way you increase is all up to you. In my description box and my written pattern, I wrote, [ATTENTION!!] IF YOU’RE USING MUCH THINNER YARN, AND YOU WANT TO INCREASE MORE, YOU MIGHT WANT TO CHANGE HOW TO INCREASE. IF SO, YOU DECIDE HOW MANY STS YOU WANT TO ADD, THEN INCREASE EVENLY EX) (K10, M1R), REPEAT UNTIL THE END…SOMETHING LIKE THAT Anyway you like! Good luck and Enjoy knitting :)
