DIY Kitchen Island Build - Easy Tutorial for Beginner Builders
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Hey everyone! I wanted to make a video that I hope can start some people on their building journey! I know when I completed my first big project it was one of my most proud moments!
Materials you will need:
Cabinets - sizes depending on your build
1x4 trim
Butcher block or your preferred countertop
Screws
Glue
Stain
Handles
Sander
Tools you will need
Drill & Driver
Chop Saw
Level
Measuring Tape
Pencil
Speed Square
This is such a great piece and what a feeling when someone is in your home says wow! what an island! "I built that" will feel so great.

The recommended worktop overhang for a breakfast bar is 300mm. This overhang is needed to be able to get chairs and your legs underneath it, to be able to sit comfortably. The smallest width an island with breakfast bar seating for 2 people can be, is between 1000mm & 1200mm wide. This is because you need between 500mm & 600mm for each seat under the breakfast bar

#1 - Use a router to drill out space for miter bolts to attach the 2 butcher blocks. Make sure to seal all wood areas. #2. When attaching tot he cabinets, use brackets that allow the screws to expand with the wood. #3, Seal all the areas, #4 If the butcher block is over a dishwasher then use a barrier in between the wood and over the dishwasher so the steam doesn't warp the wood. #5, if food will be placed on the counter top use food safe sealers.

@@dcwoodworks hay thanks for replying. It is a small house so the kitchen is shared with the dining table. Technically the dining table is my island 🤣😂. Hopefully one day I can expand a house and have a proper dining room and free up space for an island. @@eriktyson7696 Erik it’s too bad that you think I’m trying to finesse people to my channel. Sadly this is why I was hesitant to answer the question. If I try to help then it’s because I want viewers not because I what to advise. I wouldn’t have said anything but it’s the only question she didn’t answer. If you see carefully. Out of all the questions other than comments based on her being a girl, it wasn’t answered. And you know what, my comment helped several people. All were so grateful that I helped them. If my helping them makes them want to learn from my channel the correct way to build cabinetry and woodwork then that’s just a bonus for everyone. Don’t you think. This is a huge platform, people like me are putting meaningful content out to the world, and trying to help should be able to answer questions on anywhere without people like you insinuating it’s to get subs. Ridiculous

@@davidbryanwoodworksandmore thats exactly what I'm saying "you want viewers ". Coming to another KZread page that does the say thing as you and trying to lure them to your page for Subs is shady in my opinion. Let them find you. You say that you were hesitant, yet I only decided to say something after noticing you do the same exact thing several times. The only question she didn't answer? That's RIDICULOUS, so please stop. Those same questions were already asked by other viewers and answered by her. If it was jusy about answering the questions, you would have told how you would have done it minus criticizing hurt work and kept it moving. But no, you plugged your channel and discredited her work. If thats your thing its cool, but don't be mad because I called you out on it.
