DIY JEWELRY: HOW TO USE WIRE GUARD & CRIMP COVERS ON JEWELRY MAKING?
The use of wire guard and also crimp covers on jewelry making is to make the jewelry more secured and neat looking. Wire guard covers the expose part of the wire cord.
This video shows how to use wire guard by adding more length of the wire cord inserted into the wire guard from one side to the other then pull down enough to connect more beads to make more secure. After pulling wire cord all the way and is nicely setting and fix on top part of wire guard then close the crimp by flattening it tight by using flat nose plier or the crimp tool plier.

I’m learning how to use wire guards. I have no problem putting the first one on. But, I have a hard time getting the 2nd guard down close to the beads

I'm not sure if I understand your question, but what I know is we're talking about the "wire guard" with two holes, the first hole is easier when inserting the wire, while the second hole close to the beads is harder. So I'm referring to one "wire guard" with 2 holes where the wire passes through. I hope I make sense, and thank you for asking.❤
