    Nice mark. A tip with that is to let it sit on the floor of the tank for a week or two before putting it on the wall. It makes the process much faster and gets more even.

    Looks great. You can also glue the mos with superglue, works great and the Shrips do not bother.

    it probably somewhere in the shrimp room updates around that time, it did grow but filled with duckweed so I removed it eventually.

    if i may add a small tip: if you took the time and lay that moss is threads, not clumps, you would get faster growth rate and much more aesthetically pleasing effect.

    I had an excess of java moss so put in in my small garden pond, it grew like crazy, I thought it would die come the winter, the pond got a layer of ice on it but the next spring the java moss was fine and started growing again!!!!

    No, It did grow very well but was filling up with duckweed which looked bad so I removed it.

    Silly question, where did you find the tiny suction cups? I've been looking everywhere (locally and online) and the smallest I can find are about the size of a penny (or a 1 krone coin) and they're white or clear which yellows and looks terrible. Love the channel, wonderful vids and camera work, Happy shrimp keeping!

    No this tank was redone twice since this video, the moss grew really really well but so did the duckweed in it.

    you may need to cover the out side of the tank so the moss will grow in the right direction i have done the same thing as you and found it likes to grow in between the glass and mesh and not in the tank where i like it to be i am using flame moss for my wall

    If you are using tapwater a ph/gh/kh test kit would be better for you and you have to use a dechlorinator

    Rain water doesnt have any minerals in it so thats probably why your shrimp are dying

    It probably would stay on the wall but I do have some moss thats stuck on the glass so it would probably be possible to do over a long time

    I dont use CO2 or Ferts ,I think I am for the most part algae free because I use RO water .

    The active substrates I use will have some nutrients in them .

    Actually java moss can grow anywhere even without substrates. It gets nutrients from the water through its stems and leaves.

    At the end of the video I saw a red and white shrimp with the black shrimp. Are you not meant to keep different colour shrimp separated to prevent hybrid colours?

    @@MarksShrimpTanks did it look a mess because of the duckweed or just in general didn't look how you wanted it too? I am asking because I have come across forums where people have said with it being sandwiched between the mesh screens the moss just didn't fill out and looked bad. Some sewed the moss onto polystyrene boards, they claimed that it looked better but did not post any pictures. I like how the moss grew out in your skewers video, but like the idea have having a full wall of it...

    Probably not but I have noticed they eat all algae include that hard to remove green spot algae ..I have had them before and they really need hard water.

    the wall is no longer with us, it did fill in very well but it absolutely got stuffed full of duckweed so I removed it.

    Mark, I'm using regular wood moss tied to a piece of driftwood and my goldfish love nibbling on it. I've had it in there about 2 months now, its Do it and growing great. Think I may try some in my shrimp. What are pintos?

    Therapy was good ,The physio says I am getting a dislocated faucet joint in my back which is part of the spine ,The joints are meant to sit on each other but when they dislocate they side by side ..its the reason I cant straighten up when it happens..I have a picture of it happening on one of my facebook albums if you look there ,those pictures are old so you can tell even though its uncomfortable I have gotten used to it .     no there isnt, it grew well and then got full of duckweed so I removed it.

    Maybe take a hair dryer to the mesh.and bend or melt it into some interesting crevices and ledges? Cover that with moss for more of a 3-D effect?

    Yes it was removed a long time ago because it just filled up with duckweed unfortunately

    Its grown about 3cm in most places but there are still some bald areas its growing as best as it can for a none Co2 tank.

    Regular water changes will make them molt more frequently ..just remember to try and match temperature and you will be ok .

    Weekly waterchanges about 15%, and the temperture is 25c

    There could be a million answers to that my friend because I dont know your waters content, look for things like is there enough light ? do you do enough water changes ?

    Nope I no longer have it in the tank it was filling up with duckweed

    it holds the moss together, you could go single layer and use thread to hold all the moss to the frame

    It grew nice enough, you can see it still in some of my older videos.. eventually though it got full of duck weed and I removed it.

    yes possible, I got tons of duckweed trapped in it after a few months and it just looked a mess so I removed it.

    Im kidding by the way ;) I tried a woss mall in one of my tanks but the moss didnt grow well at all....but it didnt grow well anywhere in the tank. Im thinking I need new lights in that tank..hrmmmm.....

    Ruptured disks are the worst pain level 0-10 instantly if you move the wrong way .

    I didnt, it grew fine but then got full of duckweed so I removed it, saying that moss is very easy to grow, If you want a tip on growing it make it the dominant plant in the tank with the most mass, I do this in aløl my shrimp tanks now.
