Simple upgrades to the lamp would be to drill a hole with a drill bit intended for glass to make the cord come out the bottom and either attach the bowl and vase with glue or add that squishy drawer liner to the bowl to keep it from being glass on glass and so the bowl doesn’t fall off center so easily. Great DIYS! 100% making both myself!

You could just turn the vase upside down if you wanted the cord to come out the bottom... But you might need some kind of base though cause otherwise it would be much less stable (You'd also want to make sure you didn't spray paint the bottom of the vase so light could come through). I'd just be concerned that drilling into a vase would break it!

Not a fan of the wire coming out of the top, but maybe that's just me. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE finding out about the specific carpet tape, glue, etc. I had no clue so that was a huge help, thanks! I have a jute rug I love, and red wine got spilled on it. Hiding the stain under a bed right now but really wanted to use it in another room. Now I might try actually doing a decorative insert and just cut out the stain.

So many of my favourite DIY KZreadrs/Ticktockers have morphed into a very same-same 'mature' style, often quite French Farmhouse without meaning to, lots of 'lets just paint our window trim black' (which is fine if that's your style, but there is SO MUCH of that content already out there). These are so cute!!!! Omg. I love both of them so much. I feel like the rug would look so nice with one patterned rug and one solid color. It would be so cool. I love the way both of yours turned out and I'm feeling inspired to maybe try it out myself.

I'm amazed at the rug! Such a huge project, and you took care of all the details. In the 70's we would have hooked a rug using 2" pieces of yarn but I like your idea of using two rugs. 🤯 I would have tried to haggle the price of that bowl for sure. I do like the lamp and I'm going to look at my glass vase stash now... Great work!

Becky I really didn't think I was gonna like that rug but wow girl it's so beautiful 😍 loved the mushroom lamp and great tips on spraying little but often, only wish you'd be able to have the wiring come out the bottom of the vase as don't like cords everywhere. Xxx

Love the lamp and the rug! You might want to add some kind of foam around the top of the vase so the wire doesn't scratch your gorgeous paint job on the bowl. And it will keep it from clinking if it gets jostled
