    This is how a video should start. An introduction, An explanation of the problem to be solved, and a demonstration of how you solved it. Before one cut or weld. I will decide if I want to watch you build it. Well done.

    Great design....great execution.....great presentation. Really helps me justify a CNC plasma table. Having the freedom to get parts fast and iterate at low cost is gold. That was initially why I got into CNC machining - it was too expensive and very slow to prototype. Having all the tools in-house provides so many design options. Love it.

    @@RathaSochenda What did you study if I may ask? I consider taking a course in welding or industrial product design. In what study can I learn to use CNC machines, autoCAD and welding at the same time?

  • @RathaSochenda

    @RathaSochenda

    My background is mechanical engineering. But honestly I learned most of what I know just from watching KZread videos and actually trial and error. It really is a mindset thing. I found the way to learn all three stuff like cnc , design, fabrication is to have personal projects to work on. I’m not sure if that helps answer your question but I hope it points you in the right direction. Pretty much self-taught but it helps to have online mentors you look up to and can ask questions for help. It’s amazing how many people are willing to help if you ask.

    I’ll show you in part 2 or 3 of the video series. But in short I’ll adjust the thread bolt and record that depth specific for the angle. I’ll have a chart that I will create that will show what depth I need for certain angles I have per thickness. Mainly for me is 45 deg and 90s. If it’s some odd angle I’ll use a digital angle finder and bump the pressbrake pedal until I reach it.

    several years ago i made my press out of bridge banister-- 5in angle riveted together about12 in apart for the uprights and 12 in channel for the front and back of the table, and the top rails of the head,. I tried something different i made the hydraulic jack bracket (Head) so it slid along the top channels allowing me to press right next to the side(that had an opening between the angle iron legs) i was doing mostly farm parts straitening or pressing bearings out, the table was the only weak point as it is held by 2 3/4 in pins but they run through the front and back channels. never put enough pressure to bother them tho . like the repeatable of your design

I had planned to build a similar item, but now I will take advantage of your design: Now going over to your website to order the plans. Btw. Not sure where you are located (I assume in the US?), did you have any issues importing the Cyclops Design parts? Thank you, Bernhard

    Appreciate it. No issues importing from Tom over at cyclops design. Depending on what he has in stock it can take as little as two weeks or as long as a month for your press to arrive. But I can say it’s worth the wait especially if you compare cost of die/punch tooling here in the states.

    Why not a c frame design like some of the commercially available ones? I made one similar to this many years ago, albeit much cruder. I would really like a c frame style.

    I thought that would the case. Are you looking at making your own dies? There’s a with people I’ve seen who cut 16mm plate then weld them together to make a longer piece

    Fantastic. Using the limit switch is a great idea. One thing I missed is how you can from 45 to 90 and back again without adjusting the bolt every time. Looking forward to the DRO.
