I literally feel so confident that I'm on my way to Lowe's. Thank you, sir. I know this is way later than when you posted it. Your content still has value. My sink handle just broke 15 minutes ago. Other videos went too fast and spoke as if everyone spoke fluent plumber. I'm a nurse. The parts I speak are organs. I really appreciate you. Yes, your voice will guide me through this process. Ok, let me go to the store before it gets too dark. THANK YOUUUU!! 🙏🏾

OK. I'm back. My confidence was shaken when it came time to the little stick and hook part, but it's done. In the first attempt at water, we had a leak. 😬 But it was a simple fix that we thought we actually had right. The water hose was crooked. When I say we, as in my son and I. Honestly, this was such a good lesson in how we work together, how we communicate, and how we can have grace with one another. He's 21 yrs old and raised by my single self, and I appreciate us learning together. I can tell you now that we both know how to change out a sink. Hopefully it won't take as long next time. 😅 We had the tools but lacked knowledge. There were so many life lessons, all just from changing a sink. 🙏🏾 Anywho, thanks again. ❤

Quick tip with changing sinks: the hardest part is usually having enough room under the sink in tight locations to fit a wrench so they make a dedicated tool called a Basin Wrench that is entirely vertical so it is easy to loosen and tighten hard to reach bolts.

Love to see you doing vids like this. As someone who works as a plumber, this is almost exactly how it would be done professionally. A few things for next time, the gasket on the pop-up drain has the beveled edge facing the sink so it seals, and it would be a good idea to hold the cut off valves while replacing the supply lines so you don't risk breaking a water line. This isn't right or wrong, but I like to take the drainage out first, then do everything else, and re-install the drain last. It gives you more room in the cabinet. All in all great video keep up the good work. I would 100% recommend to someone

Nice video as always! One thing worth to notice: When opening up the valves for the hot and the cold water, turn them till they're completely opened and then close them a little again. If there is some biuldup happening in the valve over time it doesnt render it uncloseable cause you can then break that loose by opening the valve a little and afterwards it should be good to close.

That's a good idea to tell us about the washers and springs but be careful there are about a thousand different ones out there it's better to take a sample of what you got with you when you buy them. I like using WD-40 to help with installation. Also kitchen sinks that are one handle have an O-ring when it leaks at the stem- you use an allen wrench on the back to remove the handle to get to the O-ring.

Another common reason for slow drains? A clogged vent at the roof. Also, i do tend to prefer a basin wrench for water lines, a cheap tool to buy, but perhaps not worth it if you don't use it often. An adjustable works just fine, just with more colourful words in super tight spaces. Haha Great video as always Chris. Its always great to see your video posts. Hope everyone is staying safe. Take care.

Very true about the roof vents - every winter around when temperatures dip below -30°C we tend to have ice form in our roof vents, so our drains are slower and when the washer drains, you hear it through the kitchen sink. At least those clogs fix themselves by March!
