Didn't even think of using a storage box. So much cheaper than the styrofoam bases.

I know this video is from a year ago,but I’ve been “ binge watching” your faux food videos. But gosh! That lavender faux cake is my favorite. Lavender and purple were my late daughter’s favorite colors. When I saw the cake, it reminded me of Stacy.... If she was still here on earth she’d be after me to make one like that... You do beautiful work.

Im actually trying to make a faux gingerbread house now out of foamboard, did u ever make the gingerbread video? Will this spackle recipe work, i was originally thinking caulk but think yours looks a little more controllable

You can get a roll of non skid shelf liner at the dollar tree and use small pieces. Works for edible cakes anyhow.

I made tons of these a while back. You can paint the cupcakes too.

Wow! - too flippin’ cute! A question - do these last forever if you’re careful about wrapping and storing them, or do they have a “shelf life” and have to be thrown out eventually?

Just use the skid mat under the box and it’ll make it much easier for you to decorate the cake just a thought for future when it’s on the stand the turntable stand

Sorry for triple comment, but can you add scents to the cakes/cookies? It'd be perfect for Christmas. Add a little apple spice or the "Christmas Smells". :)

Can you tell me where your video is on the spray insulation cupcake? You mention you showed us but I can’t find it.

I needed to tell myself to not lick my fingers lol it looks and feels like icing.

OMGoodness..............have not heard A tisket A tasket in years............how precious!!! This whole production was absolutely out of this world........honest to be you are so clever......I am going to try this sometimes.......goodness knows we have spackle and spray foam ...........I wonder if you sprayed pam in cupcake tins if you might spray them in there and let them sit to dry.......if that might work too? so so cute...........I love that and the song was perfect!! I remember it from being a little girl..........so so cute. Telling my age....LOL Blessings!!!

Beautifully crafted. I've been watching your creations for the past two weeks when I subbed to your your channel. I have a question to ask, can one use alcohol ink or water color ink to color the light weight Spackle and if not why or what would happen? I'm thinking the alcohol ink or water color ink would make the color more intensified. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing.

Do you add any water to your cake frosting? Yours seems to spread smoother than mine, but I don't add water. If you don't add water, maybe you use more paint to get that creamy smooth final look? thank you as always.

@@davedalane6505 Hello, thanks for the reply. I am using the lightweight fluffy spackle like u r using. I may try just a few drops of water but not much. I remember one time I put a bit of water in with the piping bag frosting and I noticed the piping didn't have the crisp edges so I was sorry I did that. For smoothness and spreading a little might be ok. Love your videos--you do very well!

You can put some blue tack ounder, then it will not move on the turntable 😘

Hi Daveda... thanks for this great tutorial. I'm making a fake cake as a prop for a play and I'm going to do what you did. Can you please let me know what these are like when they're dry? Is the spackle really hard (like it would chip), or is a little bit flexible? Also, did the big cake stick to the turntable? Thank you again. -Karen
