DIY How to Make a Gnome Fairy House using Foam and Foam Clay - Free Pattern

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I made this gnome fairy mushroom house out a mixture of EVA Foam and Foam clay. Both of these materials are extremely easy to work with and can be crafted with minimal tools on hand. In this video I go over all of the steps it took me to assemble my gnome home as well as paint it using a variety of acrylic paints. This is the kind of project that you could craft with your kids and place out in backyard or in the woods for someone to come across. I have a free template for the mushroom home available on my site so that you can download and build right along with me. Have fun with this project and make it your own!

    Awesome job Steve. Whenever I see your videos, I'm always trying to learn something new, but do you have any suggestion to avoid brush strokes on the liquitex rich silver? Good job also on saying it is a little house for "gnomes", to avoid any copyright take down 😅

    Thanks! It’s all about the brushes you use and your wrist technique. I’m not adding a ton of paint to the brush that would leave strokes it more about applying a smaller dose but then moving that paint around in a manner that isn’t linear

    What's the difference between foam clay and air dry clay?

  • @SKSProps

    @SKSProps

    Жыл бұрын

    Foam Clay is an air dry type of clay but it is easier to work with using water to make it stick and smooth out textures. Also it's lighter and doesn't crack near as bad as Crayola model magic.

    @@SKSProps Thank you for responding to me. I really liked watching what you did. The "air dry clay" I am using is actually more like paper clay or a mache. Below are a couple links to look at. If you wouldn't mind taking a look, I'd love to hear what you think compared to the foam you are using. Also, what is the cost of this clay foam? @@SKSProps So I thought this stuff came in sheets. So you roll it out to the thickness you want and cut from there, is that correct? I definitely see the benefits of using this form. So how many grams of this stuff did you go through to make this adorable mushroom house?
