The S Spring really isn't that hard to install you just need some patience and use a brass hammer so you don't damage anything. I used some needle nose channel locks to compress the spring to get it started in the 8.8 differential.

I squeeze the sissy spring in vice and safety wire compressed. Install, then pull safety wire out. Ez peezee.
Heres a heads up if you order the performance clutch pack kit it come with the heavy duty spring this proceedure will not work ! I have been two days trying to get the spring in I used one needle nose pliers after compressing in a vice and when you try and start the spring it wont go in the hole when you tap on the spring to force it in the hole it flys out of the needle nose and expands it WILL NOT GO INTO THE OPENING EVEN WITH TWO NEEDLE NOSE PLIERS . You tap it and it just comes loose out of the needle nose and you are right aback to square one. There is no video on installing one of these new performance springs all the videos are only on wore out springs that have lost their tension . Of course those are going to be easier to install. I cannot find anything out there on installing the performance spring it is actually 1/8 wider than the original . I rigged a bolt late last night with some nuts and washer for a puller trying to pull the spring through and it broke . Again if you have a performance spring THIS WILL NOT WORK ! And I used to be a Ford Tech. The crack is along the flat part I am going to braze the crack and try it again out of desperation. I even went to the local Ford dealer and he told me about the needle nose trick and it DOESNT WORK1 He couldnt help me either ,. If you have a worn out spring this will work if you have a performance spring forget it !

@@MirzaHasnain27 I tore the diff down out in the dirt and it was cold and windy we had a really late winter into mid April after fiighting it all week I ordered a new spring but it was so cold had to get my diff back together and my car. I went ahead and put in the old spring and finally got it back together , Months later so far so good my new spring came it was Motorcraft and I took it down to the Ford Dealer and gave it to the service Manager he has been totally cool with me and a lot of help. I have not clue how to put in the HP spring they will not go in! Even the Service manager told me all you have to do it tap it in when I told him the hell I went through he was totally lost just like me . I called one place in Cal that does diffs he told me they dont put them in said he has about five of them in a drawer so there you go word to the wise . Order a new OEM motor craft dont go HP
