This video is a tutorial on how to change the rear differential fluid on a 2008 Kawasaki Brute Force. I also demonstrate how to remove and replace the original drain plug which can be difficult. In the forums, people often search for how to remove the stuck drain plug on these four-wheelers. The 5mm hex bit plug often strips out when trying to replace the web brake fluid in the differential. These instructions will be the same or similar on many other four-wheelers, ATVs and UTVs.

I watched your video1st,took covers off drives, took 1 look at those rusty "drain plugs" n skipped the hassle of trying to get em out. I used a left hand drill bit to drill em out close to size. Ive used left handed drills with much succes over the years removing stripped or stuck bolts. Usually dont even need to re-tap holes, bolts come out like 75%-85% of the time.
Thanks for the video. Do you know of a video rebuilding the rear diff?
Very helpful; thank you. Having trouble finding the front diff. fill hole for the Mule 3010.
Great video. Excellent information. Plus, all was in focus. Thank You.

Did you use crushwasher
Hey Mark, I haven't bought the book for my ATV 2012 brute force yet, but I was wonder if you would answer a question while I wait for the book. I found reddish pink oil under my atv. I opened the read differential only to find a different colored oil (brown). Therefore, I know it didn't leak out from the rear seal. Where would the reddish pink oil becoming from? The leak stopped after about 6 tablespoons, so I can't find the source yet. Thanks Randy

Transmission fluid is that colour
Use heat next time, just a small propane torch would of worked and that plug would of spun right out. Tapping with a hammer is not the way to go
Im looking man i cant find the drain plug
You didn’t show or took the time to explain where to find the fill plug at you just went to it like we already knew
Mark, thanks for the vid for changing the rear differential wet brake fluid. Regarding the bolt substitution (M8X16, 1.25 pitch), I noticed that you used a flat washer but did not use a gasket (original bolt appeared to have a rubber seal), do you still recommend just a flat washer. Also, was the bolt a steel bolt (the differential housing appears to be aluminum), if so have you experienced issues with dissimilar metals and potential galling of the threads.
Yea i bought for my inboard boat motor, but Im gunna use it to change diff fluid too. 15 bucks on Amazon
Need to back off on The camera a little so the viewer knows where about it’s located on the vehicle and then zoom in on the job, other than that it’s very educational. Good job 👍
You could of used a screw driver impact with right size a hex socket
Hey Mark I found a drill pump online for 15 bucks in case nobody wants to deal with those hex bolts.
Looks like an R/C truck underneath with that plastic skid plate.
Blaster can’t make its way into sealed threads
Allen bolt
Hello . I also have a problem with this engine model ( atv kawasaki kvf 750 2008)where the oil pump is located, I have a metal pinch, because the pump was broken. and I decided to change it . how can i solve the problem ?? to use sandpaper or what else ?? because it belongs to the whole piece which is very expensive www.brutecentral.com/threads/hello-who-could-help-me-with-some-advice.25304/#post-196246
next time try some heat...
Heat
You couldn’t edit out the 3 minutes you spend messing with your bolt? Half the video was you trying to undo one bolt 😂
I have a suzki king quad 2008 and the front diff or drive shaft is frozen with mud tried hot water will not move. Also started leaking oil out the bottom right side of the engine. Any recomandations?
