DIY HOW TO BUILD CUSTOM FIBERGLASS CENTER CONSOLE J 16 CAROLINA SKIFF

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

There is no easy way to do it! Fiberglass work is tough, dirty, messy and can be expensive if you have someone else do it for you. In this video, we wanted to give Priscilla, our 16' J-16 Carolina Skiff a center console and we can certainly not afford to pay someone else to make one for us. So with the help of my buddy Freddy Martinez, we made our one. In this video, we will take you through the process of doing your own fiberglass work and creating a strong, pretty, well built fiberglass center console to your customized liking. This will be my first fiberglass project and it is a big one! I'm super thrilled with how it turned out.

Great series/project, I have never done fiberglass, and I havent really watched it being done, until now, I learned some things for sure! Roughly how much did it cost for materials to make it?

Awesome! I’m glad you’re learning something. You’re gonna be blown away when you see how this thing turns out. Right now we are building a polling platform in the rear. Rebuilding the transom and putting in Hardcore rod holders in the back. We’re gonna put in sea deck and some LED lights. It’s gonna be crazy!

Thanks for watching! What what exactly is your question about the tackle storage? We ordered it on line and installed it. It holds our general tackle. Super convenient.

I would have coated the console first before adding the glass but thats just me being weird.

Whoah. I know I’m bigger around than you guys, but that console barely leaves any room to get by it. What you’re making is the same problem I’m making a console smaller to remedy. Still, great video. Thanks for the info

Thanks for the love man. There’s actually quite a bit of room on that starboard side. Our problem is weight balance. It’s a little heavy on port side
