I would add some gravel at the bottom so water can be released from the pipe. great video very jealous!

very little if any water will get into the pipes....with the coupler on top where the rope's tied through to stretch the net, it'd have to be a sideways driving rain, which I doubt much water would ever find it's way in, if any at all....I need to build me a range like that here!
Children.. Good Ol' free labor.✌️⛳
You crack me up! The boys looked thrilled to be helping dad!
Great! Mr. Short Game is now my neighbor. I had all of the tools you needed and the cement. Call me next time. Love ya neighbor and a big ole Georgia welcome, ya.

Love the Vids! Your info is sometimes instructional, sometimes educational, but always entertaining! Thanks Matt!
The smile of satisfaction after your first ball hit the net made it worth watching. Love it!

Kid is literally taking out a spoon full of dirt digging that hole . Great design though, may start mine this weekend.
Just made my own 10 x 10 net yesterday, (or 3metres square as we have to say in the UK). Now I’ve got net envy too. Great job.
Good to have you in GA! Nice to have a fellow youtuber here in the Southeast. It seemed no one was doing KZread in this area so I started a youtube channel! Glad to have you down here helping promote the great golf we have to offer!!! Love your content and keep up the great work!
Thanks for the details on the net build. I just used you specs to build myself one in my back yard for practice. 15' wide x 20' tall. Love the content. Thanks again.
Nice family project Matt. Kids grow so fast. I hope you have them on the course again. Net is terrific.
Just getting the kids to help in a major job. Looking forward to seeing what you do next. Good luck at the new home.
Inside? I can’t wait! Great stuff Matt
Great instruction and subscriber comments on how to install a practice net. Moving to GA. undoubtedly is a good business and family quality of life decision. Good for you Matt! We all enjoy your down to earth style of excellent golf instruction. Oh...and thanks for the bug and heat advisory!
It’s about time u made this video. Thanks thou rllyy helped
Just one idea. To help prevent some of that flexing you said you don't love, tie off the top of the pipes individually with tension to a nearby tree or ground stakes that are screwed in further away. Use tie wire to hold more tension. It will pull the pipes apart and prevent that flex, and also give you more stability if you get hit with a windstorm.
Kids putting in work for their goals! Great to see
Glad to see you landed safely. Nice backyard!!
That is a great space in your backyard, could construct a green out there as well.
Whoa! Congrats on the move!! Love Georgia!!
Awesome story! so happy for you!
"...goes where ever it goes" LOL...great project and video Matt.
Great idea! Since I've freed up some more space in the yard recently, I think I'm gonna have make me one. Would be way better than my little portable net. Great video Matt.
Brilliant, but so simple! Many thanks, great vid
Great job. Love it

Yes GA Short Game has a great ring to it. It was cool to see your family for the first time.
Love this!!!
Great job on that net. Have more stuff with family, it’s encouraging to see teenagers working! Love ya too brother!
Great idea thanks for the tips
That turned out good! Love the vids
Best Kids Ever! Great job raising them to be responsible adults.
Nice work! Put in a green next! Always love it when your helpers make it into the videos
Love it can't wait to do my own
Welcome to the Southeast, Matt. Having made the trek from NoCal to NC many moons ago, I feel your pain. The heat and humidity are pretty brutal. On the plus side, plenty of rain to keep the golf courses lush. Wishing you many happy rounds.
Great job!
You’re the man!
Welcome to GA. Love your videos have helped me very much in my short game. Still shooting 90+ but not hiting behind ball as much
Mr Shortgame, Awesome net and easy build. Great area in your back yard, I’m building or setting mine up in my rear patio. It’s concrete and brick. Still in the stage of what is going to work best. It will be under my cabana.
Matt, you are one likeable guy. Good stuff.
Dude your awesome..... great job hey....🤙😎
Great video. Great idea going higher so you can practice full wedges from a decent distance away. Can you post a link on what type of net you purchased an where? Keep it up!
Awesome video!
Great vid champ.
lol'd at the outtakes. keep it up Matt!
That is a sick back yard!
Your the best brother you did an excellent job look great!!!
Drill a weep hole at ground level. It’ll rust out eventually. Glad to have you in Georgia!
Nice work Matt....best of luck in GA
You must be proud to have such good kids that are willing to help you
Great home set up there Matt, I would need to add side nets for my game, just in case !
Secret to driving those pipes down... duct tape a hose to the top end, get on top of the ladder next to the pipe and turn the water on. Use the pipe as a water drill. I watched my neighbor dig a 50' deep well using pvc. Amazing!

I like the thought process of putting the pole in first to let the water drain...clever!

Welcome to the Right Coast...from VA!
I was sitting in my back yard grilling and thought 💭 I need a driving range lol this is perfect and nice set up 👍 Turned out great for yah !
Hey Matt, I feel like I"m on a Georgia adventure with you. Haha. I appreciate the personal touches.
You should have way more subs man... always quality and a joy to watch/listen to. I tell all my golf buddies to get on the channel, and they listen after a chip in a few times hahahaha
Well, I was going to leave a comment on some construction tips and ideas, but I see you have plenty already! If it ever loosens-up, take advantage of those trees you have at each side - they look pretty strong and they grew there for a reason! Great vid bud!
That is an awesome practice space Matt!! Cool to see you got your kids involved!! I know your daughter plays but do your sons play golf too? Hope to be seeing some more course vlogs soon!!
Great net set up 👍🏻 we don’t have gardens that big where I live in the Uk I’ll scale mine down 👍🏻 looking forward to future vids, ⛳️🏌🏻♂️no need to worry about drainage just put some silicone in the hole at the top under neath where the rope runs 😉👍🏻
Glad you put the net up Matt. It wouldn't be the same without the backyard videos. You might want to install some portable fans out there too. lol
Solid as a pole in cement, liked that.
Pretty nice
Ha ha great Vid mate, had to be your kids cos they reminded me of my kids when I ask them to help Dad 😂 Love the tips keep them coming
You are amazing!
metal drill bit. hit a few holes in the base, no worry about the water. Cement in the pipe would give slightly more weight on it. interesting to see over time how the weight of the net effects the top of the posts.
Nice. I laughed out loud 3 times. That looks great ! Mine was a soccer goal with a blue tarp and a moldy comforter. But I had to be close. Lol. Can’t wait for more videos
How’s that net holding up? My wife’s gonna love the ideas you’re giving me!!😂😂

Solid as a rock
Same 1 inch pipe at top, and possibly tie off to t he left and right to help support the two poles... Great set up
Welcome to the East Coast. You need to come to NC and play Pinehurst with me. Would be awesome to have you here.
Awesome net! Drill holes through the top of the poles and put eye bolts through them with the nuts on the inside. Then you have spots on the outside at the top for anchor lines to fight the net line that is squeezing the pole together.
Welcome to the club bro!.. California to Georgia transplant here as well!..
Looks good! I would like to do that sometime. I live south of ATL and itd be a good thing here!
Great job bruh. Very jealous of the net. You should tape out "Tigers Noughts and Crosses" layout on the net to practice your ball flights etc. Love it.
Great set up Matt. Next job for that area can be you putting and chipping area. Love you puppies too, I have a black lab like yours
Mr. Short Game is a SoCal guy. Who is this guy in Georgia? Love the clear instructions on this video!
All the best people come back to GA..
Man I love GA!
Great video. I would suggest a pole across the top to prevent bending. Many ways you could do it without interfering with your rope across the top. I’m inspired to build one now. 👍
You may want to add an eyelet at the top or 3/4 up the poles to attach multiple support lines for the wind. Great back yard ! Oh, citronella lamps or tiki torches in the corners may help with the bugs such as sand fleas, skeeters and horse flies.
try moving your screw in tie down points further away and loop/knot at the top of the poles to help straighten them out. Living in Northern California I wish had the space for a large net like that. ALSO, you should check out another Georgian, How To with Doc, if you are thinking about doing your lawn.
Great video! Video idea: how to getting the speeds of the putting green locked in. I am currently struggling with the speed of the putts I am hitting and it is getting very annoying. Great vid, might just have to make one at home!
Welcome to the east coast bro!
Cool new setup. You can also measure the distance between the bottom of the poles and tie a rope that length to the top of your nets Then use the ground anchors to pull the poles apart from the tops. That will eliminate the flexing inward of the poles. But awesome net brother
Concrete is porous so you dont need to worry about water building up in the pole. Great video and enjoy the content!
Man you are too funny. Quite entertaining. Welcome to the south. How are you liking our humidity?🥵. Keep up the great work. Hope to get to meet you one day. ⛳️🏌️♂️
Nice job. Great location. Try using a block of 2x4 to protect the end of the pipe, or anything else for that matter, when using a hammer
Matt, you may need to add a second anchor to each pole to prevent them from collapsing inward. Loop a second rope through the t fitting at the top and down to the anchor top keep the weight of the net and the repetitive impacts from pulling the poles together. Having the second anchors further away from the pole base would provide greater resistance against said collapse.
Your videos are great. I don't have your kind of space. I bought a small net to hit into in my back yard ... First shot over the net over the house into the car window parked in front of my house!!! Epic fail!!! Thank God my neighbor has a great sense of humor
You read my mind!
Perfect execution of a supervisors position.
Nice 👍 net Mr. SG..GA
Hey Matt. Thanks. Did you ever create a video when making your golf net when you lived in California? That had sides and a top with what appeared to be PVC tubing. No chickens in Georgia? 😂
You can add wire or rope to the top of the polls and bring that wire/rope to a tree to straighten out the polls for more security
The large net it is great. Being able to practice in the shade is huge in the mid-atlantic heat. If you got severe thunderstorms coming through, they can have some very stiff winds. Keep an eye on your project. You may want to drop the net.
I would put a couple of long bolts though the bottom portion of the poles that are in the cement to give added stability. And several inches of pea grave in the bottom of the hole for drainage.l As for water gettin in the pole you could put a couple of weep hole for an water to drain out. Also use a wood block on threaded pipe when hammering to protect the threads. You have a very nice set up Sir.
The reluctant Teen is awesome lol
Would love one of these nets however in England we only have fairly small gardens ( or yards as I think you guys over the pond call them). I'm very envious Matt.

Ha, that's right Pete. Over here, "gardens" are where we grow vegetables or plants.
I’m from Kentucky..I visited Georgia last year and I loved it. It was middle of the summer. I have tried to convince my wife to move there, but she ain’t having it
"maybe I'm wrong maybe I'm right but that's what were gonna do, usually everyone says I made the wrong decision, but whatever" - words to live by.
Glad your in Georgia if you come to the Augusta area id be happy to play with you
