    If you were to design a charcuterie board what design features would you incorporate? What dimensions would you use? Would you have compartments made to seperate the meat fluids form the cheeses? I will be making heirloom charcuterie and cutting boards from domestic musical grade hardwoods. Therefore I am looking for advice before I start making them. I am uninterested in making cheap, discount quality cutting or charcuterie boards from scrap pallets or scrap wood. Thanks for your advice, Sam.

    Awesome video! Thanks! Do you think a 1/4 plywood board would still work or would that be too thin?

    Thank you so much! 💗 Hope the video super was helpful! As far as the thickness of the board a 1/4 inch plywood would be too thin and flimsy due to the height of the board. I would definitely recommend using a 1/2 inch plywood to make sure the board doesn’t bend or snap. Hope that helps! Feel free to let know if you have any questions :)

    Question. What size font did you use for the lettering.

  • @TheCraftyGalCarla

    So for the lettering I created the design on Cricut Design. The font I used is “Northern Worssley” in size 382. Keep in mind that depending on what font you choose is how big the lettering will turn out in the end. The "IT'S A ..." lettering came out to a total of 19.55" by 5.02". The "BOY OR GIRL?" lettering came out to a total of 25.43" by 12.68". When it comes to the font, I would recommend measuring the space you want your letters to cover first. For example, deciding the widest you would want the statement to be and how tall you would want the letters to be and then increase or decrease the font size to give you the space you are trying to cover. I hope this helps! 😊

    Why didn't you secure the hinges directly to the back of the board? Not enough bite in the plywood?

  • @TheCraftyGalCarla

    Exactly! Since the board was only a half inch thick it wouldn’t be enough to screw the hinges directly to the board so adding that extra piece of plywood before adding the hinges made it more secure overall. We also didn’t want to use a thicker board for the panels because then it would be too heavy to transport so this was the best solution. Hope that helps! Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions! 😊

    Did you you have an issue with the board almost falling forward due to its top-heaviness?

  • @TheCraftyGalCarla

    @TheCraftyGalCarla

    7 ай бұрын

    Great question! So we have used these backdrops indoors and outdoors and when we used them indoors we did not have this issue at all, however when we used them outdoors we added sandbags to the back of the backdrop for extra support just to ensure that any heavy winds wouldn’t knock it over. I hope that helps! 😊 feel free to let me know if you have any other questions
