This is a great DIY shop project. This folding workbench is fairly easy to build and adds to the organization of any garage or shop.

Thanks! I have limited garage space and need a work bench. I'm new to wood working and hope to make this my first project.
Solid project and video, nicely done!

I want to create this but with space to hang my tools behind the table top. Instead of a 2x4 for the base, what could I use to make 2 inches for the table and about 4 inches for my tools section? Any advice?

Thank You for this video. You have inspired me to do my own folding work table in my basement. Thanks a lot 👏👏👏
Love this bench, I’m doing mine next week on my day off, thanks for the step by step tutorial. ❤️❤️
Built this on a Saturday afternoon. What a great space-saving idea! Love watching all your videos for projects to tackle.
I wish you were my neighbor... (I actually need a folding work surface like that). You have great energy.
April excellent project ..simple and practical......Congratulations
I am definitely putting one of these in my shed. Tank you April for always keeping it simple.
I love that grin you get when plan comes together. I need this in my shop.
This is going to be my first project in my new Lockdown Shed!
Great video April loved the look of your first fold down bench so nice to see it all explained. These look really handy for using in small workshops like mine. Dressed trendy for woodworking too, about time I got one of them Diresta hats. Keep up the great vids.
Just love the simplicity of that design with the stop and piano hinge. I got to build one!
Thank you for this! Between the rounded leg pivots and the stop bar, this is a way better design than the others I've been finding. Definitely basing my design off this template!
Great project April, I really like the design. Works great in the shop or in a small house or apartment.

Really like that idea!
Giirl you rock! I love how you have practical, common sense techniques in your work.
Thanks for all the great projects. I had made one of these for my old garage that was larger so I could roll out fabric. I did upholstery and it works great for this and a work bench.
awesome! Looks great.. thanks for the shout out.
cool and simple project, this could also be standing-laptop fold-able desk!
I absolutely love this - love the idea of being able to move it if you want to change up the layout of the shop.
That's the next thing I need into my garage/workshop! Thank you for sharing, April!
Great Job, I made something like this for my 3 daughters to use for homework and whatever after the homework was done. My set up was about 6' that way each one had room to work or play, the legs were hinged and cut to fit where the wall and floor met. Brought back memories, you did a great job on the table & video, SEMPER FI

Finally! I have watched so many vids looking for a truly simple fold down table and this is it! Thank you so much!
I love this fold down work bench. I'm going to make one in my camper as a dining table in my camper. Thank you for being so helpful. You are a unique person, not trying to climb to the top on the back of others but by lifting others up with you to create a money flow which in return will come back to you eventually. Thank you and keep up the great ideas!

1. Awesome Diresta hat! 2. Recently heard about you from the Drunken Woodworker and instantly binge watched your videos. Nothing is cooler than a woman with power tools!
Very nice presentation. Wonderful idea. You make it look so easy
This is perfect for my cargo trailer. Thank you. I've watched a few other vids and this one is the best.
Great tutorial. Thanks April! Yours is the most straightforward and simplest design. I plan on doing this myself, but modified to be a material support for my miter saw.(long and narrow)
Pretty sweet. I think I'm going to use this as part of my outfeed table for my table saw, thanks...

Wow my son just bought a new house and told him I was going to build a work table for him but he doesn't have the room this is perfect really cool!
Very handy, even to put into a bedroom where you can save floor space when u don't need the desk any more
Absolutely love this. This will be on my spring project list.
That was very cool. Your videos are informative and easy to understand.

really, I thought they were lacking in just about every way possible!!! seriously I just a piece of scrap for this then measured this for that then assembled that, with out exactly saying anything about what the hell she was actually doing. if I was a beginner not knowing what I was doing I would have been in teas. luckily just watching her was enough, because listening to her was a complete waste of time. she said nothing that was useful.
I am not a carpenter, but I am a keen woodworking hobbyist and "Do it your self'er," and I have to tell you that you certainly did a great job there. You made it look so simple, (and I guess it is really,) but a beautiful well thought out job nevertheless. I guess a lot of people will be copying your idea. Thanks for sharing it with us. Ed

Hey, just wanted to say thank you for the great content. My wife and I created a table is our smaller size garage and it works great. 🙏🏽
I was just watching this again, thinking about the laundry table my daughter asked me to build for her. Looks like this would work really well for that. Great design!
Great video! Very simple design yet very effective. Thanks for sharing! BTW, I like you video creating style. Straight to the point and very informative.

April, that is an outstanding idea. Love your video's.
Love to see a lady that can handle herself around the shop...bravo
I built a miter saw station and quickly realized I need a work table as well. Definitely using this as a guide. Thank you
Just wanted to let you know my nephew and I just built a very large one for my home business! 68"x42" to be exact. I had to do a few things different to make it work out right, but for the most part I used your way of building it. My wife and I both sat on it and held us. I being 6'4" at 290lbs. and her being around 100lbs at 5'6" That will hold anything I ever need to put on it!

I was just telling myself I needed a workbench for my garage but I still want to park the cars in there too. Then "poof," KZread gives me this vid as suggested. Looks like I've got some work for next weekend!

Whoa. This is the first time I've seen a youtube celebrity's comment outside of their channel.
Great idea! So simple, too, even for moving it around if you need to. Thanks for sharing !
I'm losing my shop as I downsize for retirement. Been trying to figure out how to make my garage shareable with my tools. This video has given me many new ideas. I'm sure coming up with a way to lock the legs in place will be easy with the start you have given me. Thanks for this video. I'll be watching others. Glad I found you.
Looks great Mrs. April, I've been arguing with my son ( typical 17 y/o ) over the usefulness of a fold down workbench. I had him watch this and he finally agrees with me. Simple yet effective.

Your son should listen to you better! My sons argue with me too...simply because I'm a woman.
Nice bench - I liked that you left a clamping space around the perimeter - I can't think how people cope with a workbench that you can't clamp to

I agree....clamping space on a workbench is very useful.
April exactly what I want to do in my garage with two vehicles and little space! Thank you for great video and ideas!
I really enjoy the simplicity of this build yet no lack of quality. You are mine and my daughters favorite woodworker.
Great video. I am now a new subscriber. .
Perfect for my wife's planting needs
April, I recently finished my folding workbench and I added a second stop block. It saves do much space in the garage and has gotten it's use. I purchased a drill press and the jaw horse watching your videos. Thx, and you ROCK!
I built your rolling lumber cart, and have been following your channel. You have great ideas, and are very articulate when explaining things to those that may not be as talented as you are. Keep up the good work, and thanks for your great videos.
that is so GREAT
wow, you just make it look so easy ! I also wish you were my neighbor :-)
Awesome project. Can’t wait to do this in my shop.
To answer an obvious question with a equally obvious answer, because you put it there! love your fold down bench.
Smart and Beautiful
Oh man. I thought for a second there at the end you were going to put the workbench down and do a Matthais Wandel strength test. Looks great April!

Wow. A woman who is smart, articulate, handy, and good looking to boot. Subscribed.
Very cool. That is one of the two things every garage needs. A fold-down table and utility sink. Thanks for the instructions.
My goodness April, you are quite the accomplished woodworker..You know more about this than a lot of manly weekend warriors I know do! Keep it up girl...take no prisoners...
It is a given that men and women think differently. Because of this I sometimes laugh at the way you do something like transfer measurements from the wall to the horizontal 2x4 wall attachment using a tape measure instead of just holding it against the wall and continue the marks. At the same time I like the reality of your videos (using your lap when drilling the holes instead of using a table or sawhorse), most guys would make it a point not to show that but quite a few of us have done it that way too. Keep up the good work and I look forward to your next video.

Ha! That is funny, now that you say that, I have no idea why I didn't do it that way. Just didn't pop into my head at the time. ; ) I'm glad you enjoy the videos.
Awesome design! Easy to modify for whatever dimensions are needed. Put this together in an afternoon (something I should have done BEFORE I started a woodworking hobby during the pandemic)!
finally!!!! a female who is interested in diy wood works and things of this nature ; * )
i need to move next door to april so she can build stuff for me. lol "i asked him if i could build if for him." "ok!"
Great to see a build video on this one, but I'm still partial to giggle filled 22 second original.

April, awesome job with the work bench. Followed your instructions and made one in my garage myself. 🤘🤘
Love this idea. Im a car guy who loves to woodwork. With a 1 car garage, I dont have space for a monster work bench and to store my car in the winter. Best of both worlds.
looks nice, table's not bad either.
April you are so cute.
I love this idea! I have a super full garage that I try to work in, but I have little work space. This is perfect. I can make this and then fold it up when I need to use that spot for something else.
You are not only the Hammer. Your are the whole Toolbox! :) Greetings from Germany, Markus

Exactly the type of thing I’ve been thinking in my head. Just needed a visual to show my husband. Great video!
EXACTLY what I needed. You make things look so easy, but this one actually was easy. THANKS
Wow! What a simple yet effective design and great workmanship as well. Watched so many videos on youtube and this one was simply the best, great work!
Just what I was looking for in my 'space challenged' garage. I don't think that I will have to modify sizes at all for my use. I use Kreg pocket hole system so it should go very well. Thanks for your inspiration. I just purchased your plans at your website. Nice and clear to follow. Much appreciated.
Definately making this for my shed. So easy and practical. Thank you for sharing.
nice job, April. very practical and lots of common sense. thank you for making my life easier with wood works. 😊
You are so good at the concept of Adapt & Overcome.
I made this a couple months ago for my laundry room. Total game changer having a work surface there.
I especially like that you added the stop block on the legs. Great idea.
I just finished building my fold-down workbench. Works great! Really happy! Thanks...
This is def on my "fun things to do" list for this winter.....Thanks for sharing!
Love it April! I was looking to build a workbench but this might have convinced me to build a fold-down table instead. Great job.....
Been looking for this exact project and I’m blessed that you shared it. Thank you! And looking forward to seeing the next segment of the new shop! Subscribed :)
I like the simplicity and practicality of your design. Thanks for sharing!
I am delighted with his way of working, simple, practical, easy, fast. It is incredible of all the tools that you Americans have. I love you Miss April, continue with these videos that are a source of inspiration for many.
I like your old shop as it has character. I like your new TV show too. Nice of you to let Tim and Richard hang out ... great project. Works good for grandkids rooms as well.
I built an awesome fold down table in my 1 car garage. Used a very heavy wood desk top for the table and I designed a great hinge system since it was very heavy. It sat flush against the wall and took up virtually no space. I debated about removing it when I moved, and now I regret it. The solid desk top made was rock solid. I guess the current owner got an excellent table out of the real estate deal.
Very cool idea! I have Cancer and im very limited on what i can do physically, but im falling in love with woodworking (small stuff) i need a workbench and your design is perfect for my needs!!! Thanks!! BE SAFE,GOD BLESS!🇺🇸🙏
Everything is so easy for you April, bravo !
I was looking for more women who build stuff from scratch, when I found your channel! I shared it on to my Facebook page. Thank you for providing quality content.
Love it. Quick and easy. Not complicated. Thanks for sharing.
Hi April. Your video inspired me to build my own version of this great fold away work bench! I love it! Thanks a million for such a great demo 😃
Love you're channel April. Made this table (190x110 cm) myself this month. Great space saving if you have a single garage. Greetz from the Netherlands
Great project. Very well demonstrated and easy to understand. I am redoing my workshop and this is going to be part of it. Brains and Beauty....what a combo.
Thank you so much!! Just finished mine. It’s not perfect but it’s perfect for me!! I’m in LOVE!
Hello Maim, I super love your DYI folding table. You make it so Easy breezy and instrumental. You are by far a Master Craft Woman.Keep on building and teach.❤
EXACTLY what I was looking - THANK YOU !
