Bath Bomb Recipe:
47 oz Baking Soda
2 oz Cream of Tartar
1 oz Kaolin Clay
1 oz SLSA
30 oz Citric Acid
.7 oz Jojoba oil & Shea Butter (or oil of choice)
.3 oz Poly 80
.8 oz Witch Hazel (+ sprayer with extra)
1 oz Fragrance (check manufaturer recommended %)
Mica or skin safe colorant of choice
Cocoa Butter Drizzle:
4-5 oz Cocoa butter (melted)
4-5 oz Baking Soda
.5 oz polysorbate 80
skin safe mica or colorant of choice

    They are beautiful! I don’t do bath bombs anymore. I used to make them in the little plastic cauldrons. But I hate making them soooo much I don’t do it anymore. I have a bunch of the plastic black cauldrons, skull heads and pumpkin mini Halloween buckets. And a lot of baking soda just sitting around.

    Thank you for sharing. I've struggled with bath bombs for 2 years and was feeling soo blue about it. I wasn't sure if it was Nashville's crazy weather or me. LOL It was me I guess. I used your recipe and everything and I mean everything came together. I even questioned doing this in the middle of the rain and snowstorm we got today. EVERYTHING STILL WORKED! Thank you soo much. I hope to sell many, but if I don't, I'm still sooooo excited that it finally worked for me. Thank you again.

    After my crazy struggle with bath bombs I believe this has been the issue the whole time. When using poly 80 alcohol is a no go.. :)

    The recipe works great even if you scale it down (or up)... So just divide the amounts by what ever you're needing, and you'll be good to go😉

    I had one of those, someone, gave me an excellent recipe, a pumpkin pie cheesecake.oh was that GOOD! JUST SAYIN,IF YOU FIND ONE, DON'T BE AFRAID TO TRY IT!😘😋SOOOO YUMMY! I WAS A BIT HESITANT AT FIRST, THEN COULDN'T MAKE THEM FAST ENOUGH FOR EVERYONE ELSE!(RATHER GET THEM OUT OF MY REACH, TO EVERYONE ELSE, FAST ENOUGH!)

    You can sub it with a bit more baking soda or cream of tartar, or kaolin clay.

    I have a question if you wanted to make shower steamers do you need to add the SLSA? I want to try and make shower steamers, especially for the winter. Want to make some for stuffy noses. My kids are back in school and even with a mask on they have already caught a cold and passed it onto me.

    I wanted to make bubble scoops. Couldn't find a recipe without glycerine or coco betaine. I modified my bath bomb recipe. It isnt too much different than yours. DG Baking soda is $.50/lb I was also looking for a glaze recipe. I really appreciate this video. I would swear you read my mind. Thanks Ellen. You are the best!

    you can sub the witch hazel with isopropyl alcohol or even water. And you can sub the cream of tartar with kaolin clay or corn starch.

    These look great, I have a question how do you wrap them and have you done a video showing how. I had Carpal Tunnel syndrome really bad in my right hand and had the operation, I'm so glad I had it done as I was constantly dropping things and I would get numbness and pains and needles in my fingers, I also have it in my left hand but not as bad, I'm not that egar to get the operation done on it though.

    @@itsokaytobeclownpilled5937 I didn't know a chiropractor could fix carpal tunnel, the reason I'm not keen on having the operation is i was awake when they did my right hand and it was pretty bad, i not go into details as i think you can imagine what i went through.

    You could cut the recipe down and try corn starch, tapioca or arrowroot and see how it turns out. Cream of tartar makes them hard. If you live in a place with high humidity, it might not work.

    Yes, arrowroot powder, kaolin clay, or cornstarch are okay subs, but you may need to play around with them to find the correct amount that works for your climate.

    Hi Ellen. Trying to find a good bath bomb recipe. Yours looks thorough and well explained.....but most have corn starch in the recipe. Yours doesn’t. Why not ? Or is one of your other ingredients in place of corn starch. ? Just trying to learn. Thanks

    Cornstarch, arrowroot, kaolin.... Those are all the "caking" agents in the bath bomb to help harden it up really well. They each have a different feel and are a personal preference.

    I made these yesterday, and cut the recipe in half. Yet the citric acid seemed to be ALOT, and they flaked even leaving them for 24 hours. Not sure where I went wrong, but added everything to a T.

    Different climates and humidity levels make a huge difference in each batch. You could reduce the citric acid a bit and see if it helps..
