This looks so cool! I'm going to do this with the cheap replacement glass globes on my hanging kitchen light fixture. Thanks for sharing such an awesome DIY technique.
Finally, a grandma age woman learning from a very wise and helpful young person. Thank you. I had been searching for an attention worthy video. I found one.
Really cool. Clear and straight to the good stuff. Thanks!
Thank you so much. I love my vases even more now lol. Your video is GREAT!
I love how you did the crackle effect!
Really nice !!! I'm surely going to try this.... Thank You......

I almost bought the real thing then decided to google a diy. I found you! Whew! This looks like the real thing. I just need to run to the hardware store and pick up the paint. I know what I’m doin tomorrow!
It actually is available in Canada - go to Deserres art store. They have it!
love your video- on the krylon looking glass - i see one for siver -is there on for gold? i am looking at you video at the end and one of the vases looked gold
I want to do this to ornaments does it make a difference if you spray the outside instead of the inside?
i think i can do this for gifts for the upcomimg christmas time
Hi Sarah, Can you please let me know if this is good for real flowers where I need to fill the vase up with water? will the paint run?
great idea! will try it.... Thanks
when do you pour out the extra liquid during the process?
I’ve used the ACE Hardware brand mirror paint. It’s half the price and works the same.
Very pretty
Thank you for the tutorial
Oh so cute. Do you think this would work on the outside of a plastic planter?
Is this safe to put water with flowers in it
Can you use plastic instead of glass?
you can get it at Michael's in Canada
Wow lots of love from india how can i make pink faux mercury glass
Love this idea! I’d like to do this on clear glass Christmas ornaments in colors like hot pink, orange, etc. Wondering how to add color and how to work in the small space of an ornament. Any idea?

@Suzen Did you try adding color to your faux mercury glass ornaments? I'm thinking, I'll just try spraying a mist of green, red or gold inside the Ornament and then, follow the directions in the video on the outside,so the color shows through the silvered glass.
Out of all the videos I have seen, I have to say that I like your results better :)

aww thank you! :) xx
I've only seen this way done one time before...
thanks. looks nice_😊
Amazon Canada sells this paint
Me superencanto
Cool project. one question, does it scratch off when you put make up brushes in them? I was thinking that this might be a good teacher gift, with pencils and pens instead of make up brushes.

+Kristen Black High! Great question, I am not sure as I gave those vases away, but what I discovered is that you can do the same method that I have done here but on the outside of the vase. It's actually much easier applied outside !!

I might have to give it a go, then! Thanks for answering my question!

Kristen Honey, I was wondering the same thing. Perhaps if we spray a light coat of clear gloss on the inside, it will protect against scratches
Did you put real candles in these or is that the flameless candles? I made some of these today and I wasn't sure if it was safe because of the flammable paint.

I put real candles in, but my jars have wide openings. Not sure if that makes a difference! They make great displays on their own if you're not comfortable lighting them! I only used small tea candles and haven't burned them since this video. I have better smelling candles :P

Using flameless candles are a great idea though!

This is my question too. Will this be a fire hazard?
why you sprayed vinegar? why it is needed?

It oxidizes and gives the crackel effect

Hi. I just purchased a can.. and the can instructs the painted surface should not be in contact with food or live plants. maybe if applied on outside. Although it may not be as shiny on the outside.

+Renee Sheftall You just answered some of my questions haa. I wonder if you put a nice finish on this how durable it would be. Thanks for the share

you can definitely do the same technique on the outside of a vase if you want to use it for fresh flowers, it looks pretty that way too and if it it's as shiny as you'd like, you can add a shine clear coat
love but i want gold how to do gold please?

you can use the Rustoleum gold mirror finish available at home depot.
How I miss him.
Windex makes many different kinds that works better than a mix made with water
Typical America, Pottery Barn inspired. You do know that this glass originates in Poland right?4
