I would like to redo my bed, which I paid a lot of money for. Yes, it is made of MDF, but it looks like wood (sort of). It is laminated with a wood-like layer. The frame has been through some wear and tear. Some spills have caused the MDF to swell. I know I need to sand it now, but since the MDF has a layer of laminate, how would you go about it? The color is walnut, but I would like to change it to grayish whitewash.

What is used for the glaze layer after first 2 coats of paint? You just reference "glaze" but never state the recipe or product. Thx!!

I loved your tutorial. This is the best faux wood technique I've seen and looks amazing. I'm wondering how to continue the pattern when the planks are long..the whole length of the table. Thank you so much. It was explained so clearly

Hi. I know you said that the first and dark glaze layers are a combination of the two paints, but I can't figure out if you also add glaze to that mixture. I might have missed something. Could you verify what (an what proportions of what) goes into your glaze layers? Thank you.

I used this tutorial. I wish the over glaze wasn’t so light. The results on my cabinet made it look way too light and it missed the warm wood tone. Wish I would have realized before I finished. I would have mixed less white in.

Brittany , I have one question on the top coat. I tried the MYOB on my first table and did not like the shiny finish. I cleaned it 3 times with clean slate trying to remove it. But then had to sand it back a little to try and knock down shiny areas. I applied the matte sealer but still see shiny areas where the glaze went on. How do you remedy if you use the toning glaze in areas then want a matte finish?
