I would like to redo my bed, which I paid a lot of money for. Yes, it is made of MDF, but it looks like wood (sort of). It is laminated with a wood-like layer. The frame has been through some wear and tear. Some spills have caused the MDF to swell. I know I need to sand it now, but since the MDF has a layer of laminate, how would you go about it? The color is walnut, but I would like to change it to grayish whitewash.
The best tutorial I’ve seen on graining thank you!
Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you SO much.
This is perfect! Such natural wood grain Thank you for sharing!
An excellent teacher! Thx for sharing.
put a few nail holes in the rim of paint can you will never have paint collect , and you can have a nice seal on your lid
WOW the best video!! Great content I feel confident after to watch this video. I will do a sample first 😊THANK YOU!!
What is used for the glaze layer after first 2 coats of paint? You just reference "glaze" but never state the recipe or product. Thx!!
You are an amazing artist! Thank you for sharing your talent!
You are such a great instructor Brittany !!! Amazing job !! 🥰
I loved your tutorial. This is the best faux wood technique I've seen and looks amazing. I'm wondering how to continue the pattern when the planks are long..the whole length of the table. Thank you so much. It was explained so clearly
Wow! Just what I was looking for. Awesome tutorial❤
Definitely a true master in the art, fantastic job, well done, all the best, watchin from the UK.
Thanks for the detailed tutorial I’m going to paint a set of pantry doors to look like white oak so hope it all turns out good 😃
I'm going to modify this so I can do it large scale and my MDF subfloors are getting a bougie makeover! Thank you!

How did they turn out?
Wow this is incredible tutorial ♥️
What is the recipe for the glaze in step 2?
Fantastic video and great technique. I'm wondering how this will work on a cement ceiling.
Great video. Thanksn
Do you have a link for all which products you used?
❤❤❤❤
Hi. I know you said that the first and dark glaze layers are a combination of the two paints, but I can't figure out if you also add glaze to that mixture. I might have missed something. Could you verify what (an what proportions of what) goes into your glaze layers? Thank you.
I used this tutorial. I wish the over glaze wasn’t so light. The results on my cabinet made it look way too light and it missed the warm wood tone. Wish I would have realized before I finished. I would have mixed less white in.
i LOVE this😳❤️ did you use an oil based paint all the time?
Such a great tutorial in such a small frame size 😩 why doesn't the video fill the screen??
Amazing
Brittany , I have one question on the top coat. I tried the MYOB on my first table and did not like the shiny finish. I cleaned it 3 times with clean slate trying to remove it. But then had to sand it back a little to try and knock down shiny areas. I applied the matte sealer but still see shiny areas where the glaze went on. How do you remedy if you use the toning glaze in areas then want a matte finish?
Java?? Why What brand are you using Java? You can not see the brand?
Wow!
How would you go about doing this technique on a 4 poster bed frame…lightening up dark wood?
Kitchen cabinets too? I have the 90's golden oak that I want to refinish in light oak.
So damn helpful , thank you
❤️
Great video, but your sound is not consistent.
it's too bad you didn't film this in high resolution. You should make another video in HD
