DIY FARMHOUSE SHUTTERS | INDOOR WINDOW SHUTTERS | DIY AND SAVE
Today, I am sharing DIY FARMHOUSE SHUTTERS for the interior of my windows. Average costs for these can range from $79 to 180 per window. Which could cost as must as $540 dollars. I built these for less than half of that. ( you can save even more depending on your hardware. That is why my cost was more. I chose an expensive hinge bracket )
This was not hard to do. A little time consuming, but I love the end result! ENJOY!

Materials Needed for Project:

1x3 (for the small pieces holding the larger pieces together)
1x4
(these sizes are completely up to your taste and window size. This is just what I used for my own preferences)

If you really need to save money making these, there are usually free wood pallets at home improvement stores (like Lowe's), supermarkets, etc. Some woods used are actually very good hard wood, as they have to stand up to heavy, heavy loads. Beautiful work you did, madam! Wonderful idea! Thank you!❤❤❤❤

I have been looking for idea for shutters because I really don't like curtains. These are perfect for what I need and want. I will send you pictures of my finished project. It may be a few weeks, though, because I still packing up the house I've sold as well as moving into the house I bought. I cannot wait to build my shutters!

Aww, I'm sorry about that. They really don't take up much at all. They just fold into the corners of the window. A little over hang on the window shelf with the fold but nothing to notice. A friend of the family wants me to do their windows. I was thinking of doing a short video of it, just to show the versatility of them and colors.(won't be until spring probably) If I do I will make sure to revisit mine and show them opened and closed. Good catch. I didn't even think of that! Thank you!

Awww (hugs) That's to kind! They might not be for everyone, but I have literally had people come to my house just to see them! I do want to change the curtains down the line, But I take a long time to make decisions and have no idea what I want to do just yet..lol

Thank you! ME TOO! I knew making this video that this is not something for everyone but I have been amazed at the amount of people who come to my house and are in love with them. One day I will get new counter tops and finish the backsplash!!!! Glad you love them!!!
I have a corner sink. I hate and love it. I love the windows, but I'm so short I can't reach anything behind the sink. So cleaning is extra hard.

I feel very much the same... Like I love it buuuut I have to reach I think to wash dishes and I do keep a mini stool too so I can reach back there. I did put a very small dish rack in that space.

Thank you so much!! Amazon, but don't get it. All the spindles on the inside done broke off. I think I spent 20 bucks on that and it's broken already. I want to get another but this one matches so well. I was thinking 🤔 of trying to fix it.
