@TabiEats Thanks for sending the wasabi snacks to @EmmymadeinJapan! They looked so good, all of them, especially the potato wasabi snacks. I'd love to see you make this on your channel. I'm just about to go over to your channel and see your new video. I hope the Over-18 crisps weren't too horrible, even with chocolate! Oh my goodness!!!!!!

Thank you tabieats for sending the snacks to emmy. Also thank you for the colab with emmy.
Bit of science - spice in chillies comes from capsaicin which activates TRPV1 receptors. These are the same receptors that respond to painful heat temperatures which is why this molecule can mimic heat. On the other hand, the active molecules in wasabi and horseradish activate an entirely different receptor called TRPA1. Unlike TRPV1, TRPA1 is actually responsible for responding to painful cold and not heat. As such, wasabi and horseradish are actually giving you a painful sensation of cold and not heat.
i remember VERY clearly being dared to eat vanilla softserve with wasabi at a buffet once in college and actually liking it and eating the whole bowl like that. separately, we tricked a friend's little brother once (about 11 at the time and kind of a bully) into taking a huge bite of wasabi, saying it was green tea ice cream. it didn't end well. love you emmy!
The chemical compound that creates the "sinus heat" from wasabi, mustard, & horseradish is an oil called Allyl Isothiocyanate (AITC). It is more of an aromatic irritant than the blistering firey heat characteristic of capsaicin bearing foods. As to the gritty texture of your finished ice cream, it may be from the wasabi powder, but I would hazard a guess that it is caused more by the utilization of premade icecream in the recipe. Most commercial icecreams have stabilizers that are wonderful at protecting the creamy mouthfeel upon the initial freezing of the product, but if melted and refrozen, these stabilizers break down and can create a somewhat unpleasant powdery or gritty feel on the tongue. Nothing worse than getting a tub of your favorite flavor to find it has been improperly kept at temperature in the store by this characteristic mouthfeel upon opening :(

Thank you this was great!
I had a "desert sushi" dish at a restaurant, once. The "sushi" was coconut rice around sliced strawberry, wrapped in a thin piece of chocolate. It was served with chocolate "chop sticks" and a scoop of wasabi ice cream. I couldn't tell you how they made *their* wasabi ice cream, but for me it was the best part of the dish. The flavour was a lot more subtle than it sounds like yours was, and the note of heat at the end of a cold and sweet mouthful really worked.
If Emmy finds it spicy, god help the rest of us, she drinks Sriracha for breakfast!

This reminds me of Cars 2 when Mater accidentally ate wasabi because he thought it was ice cream. 😂

Emmy's light gave me a mini heart attack I thought I had done something wrong to my laptop screen lol. I love these video's so much!!!
Wasabi aside, that's a really pretty sundae.
@EmmymadeinJapan @TabiEats This was so much fun to watch! Shinichi and Satoshi, thanks for sending the fun wasabi snacks, and Emmy, the wasabi ice cream looks amazing! The wasabi potato snacks look the most interesting to me. They look so crispy and crunchy. Thanks for another great video, and I'm just about to visit TabiEats' channel to see their new video, too! So glad to see you working on a collaboration together again! :-)
"Doink." I love that word.

I love how wasabi is so tasty that it makes you want to keep eating, even though your brain is numb! Such a cute sundae! 😍
"oh. mah. goodness" lmfaooo. i love you
I LOVE the burn/blast of good wasabi! As a former coke/crystal meth addict, it wakes up my brain without all the bad stuff going on. ;) TabiEats is one of my favorite channels, and they are SO sweet and generous with other KZreadrs. Nice collab!
Wow!! I am addicted to wasabi! That is definitely something I must try! 👍😊👨🍳
This would be part of the ultimate, sacred handbook of pranks!

I LOVE wasabi! I pile it on my sushi when I go out. My fiancé is always creeped out by my love for wasabi. I tell him “it burns so good!” It is an addictive kind of feeling. I’m glad I’m not alone!
Your description of wasabi burn vs chili burn was SPOT ON! Love how you explain what you're feeling.

Would you try and make a Dominican drink called Mori Sonando. Its a drink thats made with Milk and you mix ot with Lemon or Orange juice, you can also mix them both. Its so awesome when my grandmpther made this for me and not many Dominicans in America make it much anymore but its so damn good. I would love your thought on the drink. Just look up the ingredients because i know there is more to it. I love your youtube and you are so awesome. xoxo.

we made it with lemon but you have to mix it well. it was soooo good. but my mother did put some orange juice in it. I hope Emmy does it so she can show how it looks and taste. Loraine, im assuming you are Dominican and you had it so you know how good it is.

it can but you have to mix it immediately. look it up, youll see. its actually amazing.
@madel342

I've made it with lime, it depends on how fast you mix it, if you let it sit it will curdle. Lime, evaporated milk, milk, and sugar, serve with ice. No you won't get a stomach ache. It curdles if you add too much lime and not enough milk.
That sunday looks beautiful!
OMG! Yes Emmy it’s so true looks like our “halo halo” lol!!! 💕💕💕

The sundae look so yummy. Thank you emmy for colabing with tabieats, i love both your channels.
I absolutely love your shirt. 😍
I’ve always said that Emmy is adorable but she’s even more when her nose turns pink ❤️ your videos make my day
I love all of these types of Japanese rice snacks, especially the ones with seaweed on them, because I LOVE seaweed snacks! I love wasabi too and these wasabi nori snacks sound like heaven to me!
I love Frosties and fries...I also developed a love of dipping my onion rings in old fashioned chocolate milkshakes thanks to my Grandfather. That was always his go-to comfort snack when he worked in his burger stand...
I love that I can trust your opinion; You're always giving a legitimate review of something, even if you made it, and hoped it be good!
So hilarious to watch! It’s like the food spoke thru you haha!
that looks amazing, emmy!
Yay new video and im early 💘💘💘
The crunch was so satisfying!
I loved this!! Especially the end!! 🎶I'm not a singer🎶😂😂😂 me neither😂😂
Such a lovely looking sundae!
I always love your videos! Absolutely hands down my favorite youtuber!
Emmy you the best !!!!
I love how you try so many special things! Keep up the amazing work! 😍✨💪🏻
Coldstone used to make wasabi ginger flavor! It was a vanilla base. Not bad.. Spicy but sweet
Early the 48th view!!! I’m so happy that I’m early!!! 🤩🤩🤩 love this video but I don’t really like spicy things that much 🌶 🌶🌶
Beautiful dessert. Gimme!
i love both chili heat and wasabi, my dad looks at me like i'm nuts when i load my sushi down with wasabi (i use the same brand, mostly because it's the hottest) he chokes if he uses half as much lol, it just puts this girl in a really good mood.
I love her reactions 😂
I was watching this on mobile and her light started flickering right when I plugged my phone in to charge, thought something was wrong already with my brand new phone until Emmy mentioned it was her light 😂
Love you emmy so so much ..
Love Tabieats!
Im glad Im not the only one who dips their fries in Frostys.
That’s a swift and strong nope from me. Love you though
Refrozen ice-cream gets that texture to be fair
I love wasabi! I ate so many wasabi peas in my twenties 😂 I tend to think of sushi as a vehicle for wasabi (and an excuse to eat pickled ginger). Another good wasabi recipe is boiled or baked baby red potatoes cut in half, scoop out the flesh and mix it with cream cheese, edamame, and lots of wasabi in a food processor and then scoop or pipe it back into the potato skins like deviled eggs and top with chives or sliced scallions/green onions. Yum!

I was half expecting the chocolate sauce to be infused with wasabi lol
I like mixing chocolate ice cream with wasabi. Sooo good!
Wow, I've never seen Emmy freak out as much about a spicy food 😂😘💗
Plating skills on point, Emmy.
Omg THANK YOU - I’ve been try to remember what those nori/rice cracker snacks were for forever because they’re my favorite!!

Yes! Halo Halo is what came to my mind right away. Your face tho with the hot ones and the ice cream. Wow! I worried about that melted/refreeze action. That never works well for me. Ice crystals. Yuck in supposed-to-be-creamy smooth. This was really cool. I like wasabi and horseradish. Thanks Emmy.💚😍🐝🐥🍨your sunday is pretty....but scary too. Lol.
I love the way you make things as if they would taste so good! That crunch, I wanna try them all!~
