DIY EPHEMERA ORGANIZER MADE FROM OLD BOOKS - EPHEMERA STORAGE FOR YOUR CRAFT DESK
Let's make a DIY EPHEMERA ORGANIZER FROM OLD BOOKS FOR YOUR CRAFT DESK!
Don't know how you feel about this, but every time when I've cut out a digital printable ephemera pack there is this tiny feeling of panic lol because I KNOW half an hour later my table will be a total mess and I won't find anything anymore. Time to solve this problem! In today's video I would like to show you how I made an ephemera organizer for my desk from some old books. I KNOW there are tutorials that maybe a bit more professional, my result looks like what I am - junky, grungy, chaotic. But it works!

This is so cool. I saw it first on your Ocean Eyes video. Thank you for teaching how to do this so quickly! By the way 99% of the time your English is spot on. I truly appreciate how you tell us of your mistakes and how to avoid them. Not all instructors do that. That is an important part of teaching. Great job.

Thank you so much ❤️ I think it's more than important to also talk about the mistakes... I mean, I spend my time to make tutorials for YOU so you shall have success in the end... That's the real crafter's life
Sure you can be worthy of beauty on your desk. I find pretty things I've made help me feel creative when I see them.
And don’t stress so much about your English, it’s perfect and we understand 😘🌺💐
I absolutely love this idea, Luise 😍 I will have to go book hunting to make my own! I've become an addict of your creations and channel. Thanks so much for doing all this hard work to share your magic ✨
So awesome! I have a set of encyclopedia books that we bought 55 years ago. I'm thinking of using a couple of them to try this! Your little head is jammed full of ideas! TFS🤗
Oh!! How much work!!! FABULOUS! I imagined you laying on your bed with a 2 liters bottle of water after this video😅Thank you so much for your time, for your tips..for everything 💗👏👏👏
The basic books are sooo GORGEOUS !!!
I love the darker color it is so pretty!
So glad I found this video. I found a waste basket that looks like it was made from old book spines at a thrift store. Hope I can find some old books that will go well with it. Thanks so much for this wonderful tutorial. 😊
Thank you so very much, Louise. What a wonderful treasure, I know I can create and keep for a very long time.
I love your laugh. Thanks for showing us how you did it.
Luise, you are a fearless and multi-talented craft person. I love your ephemera organizer, especially because you appropriately used old book covers to construct it. What a great choice to use your grandmother's old sheets in the project. Your English is right on. I live in the USA where we speak our own version of English. If anyone from the USA ever has the nerve to criticize your spoken English, keep in mind that the majority of US citizens can barely speak English; their grammar, pronunciation, understanding of the mean of words, use of multi-syllable words is embarrassing. Plus, only a small percentage of us can speak and understand another language. I recall seeing a poster in a school room, which read, "IF YOU SPEAK SEVERAL LANGUAGES, YOU ARE MULTI-LINGUAL. IF YOU SPEAK TWO LANGUAGES, YOU ARE BI-LINGUAL. IF YOU SPEAK ONE LANGUAGE, YOU ARE PROBABLY AMERICAN." Thank you for sharing your clever ephemera organizer. Be well and safe. Hugs from Alice in S. Carolina USA.

@@luiseheinzl You are welcome. I would love to hear your laughter. Glad I could brighten a spot of your day.
My desk currently looks like a crime scene... like maybe someone broke in and was looking for the heirloom jewels 😅 what a good idea.
Great idea. Thanks. These little half covers would also make lovely stubby junk journals.
Love this project Louise. English is perfect. 🌹
Wow, so clever. Wunderbar!
Hallo Luise, your book organizer is amazing! TYFS all your hard work and your instructions are easy and simple to follow 🤗
I absolutely love this idea. I made one for myself and my grandson loved it so i gave it to him, so i have to make another one for me. Thank you for this idea.
I honestly think this is THE most creative storage bin I have ever seen !!! Wonderful directions. Loved your warnings about mistakes. Your English is wonderful while your accent is quite soothing. Thank you so much !!!
I am having a ball making these!
Wow.....3 cups of coffees later....I fully enjoyed thus process with the boo boos include which is great for us to learn as well....thank you for taking all that time to share this process.....love it and will definitely try it Although I don't have old books I can make the ones I have look old ....👌
Beautiful!! You did a Great Job, Louise!!
Beautiful! Maybe this will help - You push away from you. You pull to you. Hopefully that helps in the future, if not you still did a great job. Thank you so much.
Since mod podge is water based you could try using a bit of soap and water. Or saddle soap or a leather cleaner. Just go in very easy. Just test in a corner maybe or a baby wipe. Let it dry a few days and then try a finishing wax or a clear waxy shoe polish. Or a leather polish maybe even beeswax? I love this little organizer! Using unconventional materials for other purposes is my favorite thing to do.
Luise, Push is away from something (like yourself) and pull is toward something (like yourself). I've watched a lot of your videos tonight and I am impressed with each one. You had me laughing so hard when I realized you were trying to match the directions in English to your hand movements from the German tutorial. I couldn't do what you do. I can only speak German when I am suddenly surprised. It must be in my DNA because I don't speak German. However, there have been a few times when something happened that completely startled me and German came out of my mouth.
Danka! thank you so much for the idea of this storage solution. I have a library we recently put together, it's also my craft room, this idea is perfect! Love watching your videos, they are inspiring and fun and you're an awesome lady. much love.
This is so cute and useful. I wish I can find a set of old books so I can make it. TYFS🥰
I will be searching through the second hand shop. Brilliant & elegant ideas! Thank you for sharing 🌻🏵😻🌼💐😻

Is a kind of nice know not only me getting panic about untidy desk😅
Thank you so much for making this video. This is the best organizer that I have ever seen so I plan to make one. I do not have books to make one so I am going on the hunt to get some. Your teaching is wonderful and so very thorough.
Generous idea! And...it looks beautiful!🥰
It's a wonderful pice, so beautiful 😍
I’m always looking for new ways to keep myself organized but I find if I put too much “away” in containers or boxes, I don’t see it so I don’t use it. I love this project
I absolutely love this! Thank you so much for the inspiration! xo
Great idea, Luise! Very cute! TFS the inspiration!
Again a great tutorial! Your English is very good, even your grammar which is not easy in our language. I will be on lookout for set of books to use for this awesome idea.❤️👍😃
Love this! Perfect to organize and using books! Love it!

Fabulous. Thank you
Just an awesome video, I'll try and make this one day soon. TFS 💜🦋
Thanks for sharing! I love it!
Luise I enjoyed this holder. I am not sure, by now you may have heard this before about the turning of color, I would more than likely think the stain that was used on these books were the reason for it coming back to the original color. The stain was there but faded out. Mahogany wood does the same thing and once stain you never really get it out. Your project turned out great. I always enjoy your unique ideas.
Love this amazing idea!
What a unique idea....love the idea and it looks great......😁
Adorable
So creative. I don’t have any old books with so much character but I’m going to make one with what I have. Also, your English is fine. I could listen to you all day. A lot of people in America are not as clear as you are when they speak. ♥️

...and that's probably the reason why learning that language is SO DIFFICULT 🤣
Wow 🤩 wow wow, luv ❤️🌺
So beautiful
Thanks so much for this tutorial and the details of what to do and what not to do. I also love the idea of how you made your shelf with the book around the chunk of wood. So creative.
So lustig! Deine wütenden Handbewegungen und dazu Deine weiterhin freundliche, nette, erklärende Stimme beim kleinen "Klebefehler". :)

I’ve seen this before, I just love it! I must go find some old books. I love how you do both English and German videos. Thank you for sharing your talent with us. You are so inspiring.
Super wow....think i will try this!
This is an amazing idea miss Luise! (I know that's not your real name, but....) I can't wait to try it out. I definitely have the same problem of a messy desk while working on a project, so thank you so much for sharing. Also..... wow! What dedication to make a separate video (voice over) in English. That's so much work for you! 😘😘😘💕🧡 Looking forward to the rest of the series!

Luise, Wonderful tutorial! This is a great idea and you've given very clear directions. Very cool!
I love this! Now to find some books I can cut up and make an organizer like yours...lol.
I saw this handy organizer in the last Dephemerember tutorial. Immediately I went through you previous videos hopng you had a tutorial for it. I was so happy to find it, as it will serve me for so many organizational projects. The matching books as shelf supporters is something else I want to have in my next project - a new and improved crafting area. I totally intend to binge on your videos - something I can't wait to do. Tfs, Luise. Hugs from Spain

Thank you..so need this organization video.
Fabulous idea, although old books are hard to come by here so if I made this, I might find some suitable short but thick children's books and mock up the covers. Hmmm, possibilities...
This is great!! I'm going to have to make one! or two....
Hi Luise😉 what an awesome idea and beautiful result. I too love that you incorporated the leg of your riser. So clever. Your English is so beautiful to listen to. Thanks for all you are teaching us! Have s great day!🙂
