Im about to do this on a 3800 series 2 in a week or so and have been watching a lot of videos and how tos and I always come to a question about it being true 50/50 when complete. If your adding watter to the block to flush it, what about the water that is still in there that didnt get flushed out? You added 50/50 on top of that so wouldnt the whole system not be 50/50 now and more along the lines of 40 coolant 60 water? Did I miss something? thanks for the video. yours is the easiest to follow

Thanks for your question, l had the exact same thought when l did the flush myself. Doesnt water in the system dilute the actual coolant? I have never had a problem, what your asking is a great question, and l dont have an answer other than l have never ran into issues doing it this way.

@@HomeownerDIY Maybe Im over thinking it too but in our climate (Newfoundland) I really dont want to take the chance on screwing something major up. Ill be doing it on a near mint 05 Monte Carlo SS Supercharged with 51k kms. Ive turned this internet machine upside down trying to shake out an answer and it seems its only me and you have this thought lol. thanks a lot for taking the time to reply

@@UndeadSpaceMonkey1 If you want to play it safe(er) do the coolant flush like l did, once the car is cool, drain the rad and refill. Drive the car allow it to hit operating temp, let it cool and drain/refill the rad again. By doing this you will be draining the diluted coolant. Drain/refill 2x after the flush and you will have probably 80% 50/50. It will take abit of time and $$ but that is how l would get the water out of the system. Hope that helps.

Thanks for your question, we have had the car since since 2002. I have done 3-4 flushes over the years. The car isnt driven much, 300miles/500km a year. My brother 🤬 up the cooling system when he mixed green into the Dexcool system😫

My brother drove the car later on. I bought my firs car in 2004. My brother neglected the car so badly when he returned it it needed 7K worth of work to fix all the problems. He was the one that mixed the different coolants. Im sure he would of also thrown in any type of oil as well.
