DIY COMPLETE Garmin Livescope Install For Pontoon Boats

This is for all those other pontoon boat owners out there that can't get any love when it comes to installing new fishing technologies on their pontoon boat! If you own a bass boat there are literally millions of videos to help you out along the way but us pontoon boat owners have to figure it out ourselves and so my hope is that this will save someone a bunch of time and money installing their own livescope system. It was super easy and tested really well on the water.
I have listed the Ram parts below. If you have any additional questions, please throw them in the comments and I will do my best to help out.
See y'all on the next adventure!
Be blessed.

Just bought a Sun Tracker 22 and have a Mega live to put on it. You are right, it appears that , for now, Pontoons are kind of like orphan children when it comes to putting things on one. Found this and since you have a Ranger, they are pretty much the same Boat, different name. Anyway, it is exactly what I was looking for. Thank You, Also thank you for not taking up half the video with useless rambling about anything but the subject at hand, good job. Will have to check out some more of your vids.

Awesome video brother… I have a bass buggy 20 footer from Bass Pro Shop 75 horse motor. I got the Alterra Troll motor in the front there in the front gate area or yours is mounted I have a question. Where is your FishFinder for your trolling motor I did not see one in the video. What are you using for that? I have a helix 9 inch that’s almost mounted where yours is GARMIN is mounted a little bit higher than that on the rail… Fishing guide from the area told me that if you get a ram mount and mount it in your center council area or you drive you can use it for your grafting with your Transducer that comes with your Garmin screen and then when you want to use it for live scope, you just turn it towards the front of the boat where you’re fishing where you could see everything this way it serves two purposes and you can use the same battery I believethat comes with your regular 12 V starting motor battery the saving about 75 pounds of weight as well… Thoughts on that?

Curious, I would like to troll about 2 to 4 mph with the livescope transducer in the water while I search for Stripers. Is your secondary pole brace strong enough for trolling at that speed? Right now on my small boat I have to use a rubber bungee strap to keep it from flexing backwards and changing the angle. Thanks!

Thanks for the video, you are correct there isn't a lot out there for pontoon poles. I am trying to do what you did, my boat is on a lift so i also want to be able to put my cover on, l think your way will let me do that but i have it in my mind to put it on the front of the boat in front of your corner box, i have the same type box. You said you put the transducer on the pontoon is it above the water while running and just a few inches under water while fishing or did you mount it pretty deep and how did you attach it. Tnx jo

I put it on a piece of steel and attached it to the under side of the deck. It hangs down a couple feet so it’s in the water. I’m looking into putting a break away hinge on it somehow just in case I were to hit something. 🤷🏻‍♂️ hope the video helps.

The battery that runs my live scope setup is completely independent of everything else so I just put a small charger on it by itself when needed. It would be nice to tie into my onboard charging system but the wires would be exposed and I wouldn’t like the look of that.

I'm getting ready to order Ram mount parts for the transducer pole mod. Now that you have been fishing with it, did you need to change anything to make it work better? If yes, a video update with new parts list would be awesome. Also, did the under-deck mount transducer end up working okay? I'm in the same situation having the transducer and wondering where to mount it. Would like to see a short video on that if it did. Diggin' your YT vids and appreciate the feedback.

@@nocoastangling Just following up to let you know I built my transducer pole mount pretty much like you showed in the video. I did upgrade the lower secondary bracket system by installing a 1.5" ram ball under the boat deck with short ram arm that is then connected to the pvc 1/2 clamp thingy that I shaved down like you said to make it easier to slap in place.
