DIY CNC Machine - Electronics | Part 2/2
Ғылым және технология
In this video, I show you how I built my DIY CNC machine. All moving parts of the DIY CNC router are running on ball bearings while the structural parts are made with natural materials, namely birch plywood and solid beech wood.

Safety switches/devices should always be connected in normally closed configuration to ensure safety.
I like how you added the LED strips. One suggestion: I would put down a cover between the electronics and the spoil board. Wood chips and dust will fall through the holes in the spoil board directly onto your electronics creating a fire hazard.

ayeeee. im gonna do that.
Incredible! Wonderful tutorial that, for the most part, a non-tech person can reasonably understand. Well done!
Well Done!!!! Very impressed. I have been looking for a DIY cnc router to build for several months now. This was by far the most comprehensive video series I have seen. It's clear, precise and informative. The sound is great and I can understand every word you say. I just want to thank you for putting this video series onto KZread for us. I downloaded the plans. Great price! Thank you for that! I also subscribed to your channel. I look forward to more from you. Best regards, David Miller
Thank you for taking the time to provide such concise details. It is without doubt informative and helpful. I have learned quite a lot.
The project is perfect the video too... thank you
brilliant design and crisp clear instructions for each step. You made it look so simple, to motivate people to build their CNC
I am so impressed with this tutorial that although I have purchased a plan to build my own CNC I have decided that this design is much nicer, and requires no machining. All the cutouts are simple. I will be patiently waiting for the plans or blueprints so I can start building my own machine. Great job.
Beautiful work. Practical, clean and easy to build.
That is an absolutely beautiful machine. Thoughtfully designed, and perfectly executed. This is the exact machine i have been looking for plans for, thank you for building it!
Amazing absolutely amazing I've been looking all over KZread for this exact video for weeks! By far the most detailed best laid out and I formative video on this project by far. In my opinion of course... thank you so much for all your hard work! Your design is so clean and clear I am so much less intimidated by this project now. I'll be sharing with everyone I can think of!
Thanks for releasing the drawings. Will be one of our next projects.
I have watched a lot of CNC videos and this is by far the best quality video covering the electronics.
This truly is a nice balanced machine dude! It's rare to see a good performing DIY CNC here on youtube.
Amazing project! Thx
You are a real engineer, congrats!
Excellent video. You helped me a lot. Thank you very much, I'm Subscribed.
Great machine and even more, great documentation, particularly the wiring part. Since I am not into all electrical stuff, such detailed information is a precondition to get it done without help on the wiring. Fantastic! Really looking forward to the release of your drawings. Thanks in advance for all the work you are investing. I was considering to build a MPCNC, but the ruggedness of your machine is worth spending a bit more money. Frohe Weihnachten in die Schweiz!

I love this build! Great job and amazing build quality. I am in the process of building my own exactly like it but I decided to use lead screws instead because of price. It's turning out great!
perfectly documented and executed.
subscribed! project is nice , video is amazing and your explains are helpful thanks from France
You built a machine that can now replicate some of your extraordinary woodworking skills. The detail and precision is very impressive, great job.
Excellent Friend !! Congratulations and thank you!!
That was amazing... thanks a lot! I want to do my own cnc and your video is a huge help!
Very nice looking setup!
Great explanation and clear video .thank you for shearing with us.
Two of the clearest, most helpful videos I have seen... and I have looked at everything I can find! My budget won't run to ball-screws or linear rails, so I guess I will have to live with a less capable machine. Still, I hope to end up with something that will still provide enjoyment, without too much frustration. Fingers crossed. :o) Thank you so much for taking the time to show us your machine. Liked and Subscribed.
what a fun video to watch.. simply amazing job
Super build my friend. Thanks for sharing.
Wonderful! Very clean design. Built a CNC router and intend to build another. I will definitely use some of your ideas. Thank you.
Awesome project ! Best on the web!
You made a lot of work. Congratulations! I will make the same cnc. Thank you.

Fantastic. I think this is the one i would like for my business. Love that the measurements are metric. Hi from New Zealand
easy to understand and what a beautiful machine!
What an awesome pair of videos - well done on the CNC design and build, but also on the excellent video content, this is exactly what the internet should be used for. I imagine starting it on a job and going to make a sandwich and then coming back to the finished job must be very satisfying! One thing I really like about the design is that it looks like it would scale up or down. Really great job.
Excellent work!!
A really beautiful build, and I really love the fact that you have used timber. Your attention to detail is superb, and it speaks volumes in the end product that you have produced! I have been watching so many videos on cnc builds before I begin mine, and this has to be one of the best videos and hobby machine builds that I've seen!! Awesome job, and a new sub from New Zealand... 👍

hey im from nz too, did you build this? Im going to try.
Thanks for sharing. Is there anything you wished you would have done differently now on this build?
Very nice Build, thanks for the Show!
As was mentioned by Jelle, using your switches as N/C would prevent damage to your motor, drivers or power supply in the event that the wire to your end stop switch is broken, in that way, the system would detect it and stop but in your configuration, if it is broken, the system motors would drive the axis into the end stop because a broken wire and a N/O switch are read as the same.
Instant subscribe and already sent it to some of my friends. Very clean, good looking build.

Coolest hand made cnc ever seen 😍
Outstanding video! I’m hoping to make one that’s about 4x8’. I plan to use my build to make custom kitchen cabinets.
This isthe best cnc tutorial i have seen. Plans would be great!
I’m using your design in combination with another DYI build your wiring , and plans but with his rails setup thank you I also downloaded you plans even though I don’t understand mm so well but I’ll get it figured out
Brilliant work and videos, well done!
Very neat work my friend, salutes!

Great Job - Will attempt to make one
Good video.Video yang bagus.
Love the video! The machine looks great. Got ant 3d files for it to share? They do not have go be perfect. It would save me a lot of time. Very curious of your next video!
So good! Thanks
Thanks for the great videos and design. Was wondering if this cnc equipment can also be used to work on soft metals like aluminium or brass.
just a word of warning. Allow enough space in your flexible wire way (drag chain) so no compression of the cables occurr. Long term heating with the cable bundle can occurr and cause welding of the insulations to one another and even develop a short circuit between wires and cables. I have seen this several times in my 30 years as a cnc tech. Overall, nice build!
Das ist fantastisch!
شكرا جزيلا ! Thank you !
Beautiful woodwork, very nice design. I really enjoyed your video. Do you have any plans on adding a dust control system?
Que maravilla👏🏽👏🏽
Cool work 👍👍👍👍
Lovely!
Cooles Video und alles perfekt erklärt. merci! Was sind bis jetzt deine Erfahrungen mit der Maschine? Was würdest du ändern?
its great i already buy...just collecting budget for try this amazing project :)
Hi I got the plans thanks real good I going to change the flat rails for the ones with the round bar the price is half I know I will have to modify the way they sopports but I am building this machine to help mi self some extra income I am retired and on a budget life anyway thank you for your videos and plans they are a jewel cheer mate
Excellent job very detsiled. Keep it up. Whats next.
Beautiful
I'd be happy if you'd put your drawings with exact dimensions online so others can build this exact machine, too! Thanks for the inspiration nonetheless. :)
super nice job you did hope i was good like you
good job
I finally managed to build a similar machine. I had to connect limit switches via optocouplers - otherwise they triggered alarm when the spindle was started.
Is it possible to get the dimensions of the library rails and ball screws used. Full dimensions and plans for the project would be awesome. Great build and video.
Thanks for the video 👍 Only one question; where do you set the steps per mm for the steppers and where to put the spindel calculations values?
Bravo!!!!
Great CNC project - I bought the plans! I think the wiring diagram could be better, and recommending how to flash grbl onto the board would be good, but that is covered elsewhere.
A really beautiful build. There is just one little safety issue :) the connectors of the router are reversed, so you can easily touch a live wire!

I was about to say the same thing, that the router connector pins were dangerously reachable with a naked hand :/
Grazie
So you're basically god of wood and cable management?
Hey man, great project! Did you already do any precision testing?
Thank you
Fantastic build! A few things strike me - I would have made the uprights out of aluminum, and would have made metal plates to secure the wood over the linear bearings so to be able to provide more surface area to clamp with. And Fusion 360 is "quite simple to learn"? Not in my experience! Other than that - I want one!
