Great tutorial. Thank for sharing. BTW, my daughter and husband moved to Alabama a little over a year ago and they love it except for the tornado warnings. I visited her last year and loved it too! Living in Las Vegas with it’s desert environment made looking at all the greenery in your state like a drink of cool water. She lives in Tallassee and her husband is in the reserve Air Force after both of them served their 6 years active term.

Yep! A staple in my pantry. Love to make fideo sopa (like a soup but slightly thicker) with tomato sauce and chicken broth. My favorite fideo is made by Moderna and can be found in the Mexican aisle in bags.

Thank you! I love Rice-A-Roni but it is too salty and you don't get much in the box for the price. This is a great idea and I'm going to do it. Thank you just found your channel and I am now a new subscriber.

Loved the way you made use of what you already had in your pantry. Taking advantage of other suggestions as well to make variations for what’s in my pantry. I appreciate this video. Thanks ❤

I do them in zip-lock baggies. I do quart bags with a rice and vermicelli or orzo, and snack baggies with either chicken or beef bouillon, seasoning, and some dehydrated veggie powder. I can choose which pasta and which flavor of bouillon I want, and add some canned chicken or roast beef to make a complete dinner. They store nicely in a bin on my pantry shelves.

New to your channel and loved this video… I was curious since your vacuum sealing it could you just put the spices in with the pasta and rice directly instead of having it to put it in a little bag?

If you need to stay away from MSG Aldi's has a brand of their chicken bouillon that does not have it in it .. I am severely allergic and have a severe reaction to monosodium glutamate AKA MSG I use a lot of Aldi's brands and the price is excellent compared to having to buy a healthy choice or an organic something ...

I think you would be okay to not food saver them if you don't have one and just make sure your jars are tight. You could also make some up and put them in storage baggies. I'm using the food saver with mine because I made up so many.

So... save $$ by making your own rice-a-roni, but use expensive par-cooked rice and expensive pre-broken spaghetti noodles? Doesn't make sense - either make it yourself (break own spaghetti, cook own rice) or just buy the cheaper rice-a-roni!! SMH.

  • @myalabamahome1125

Thank you for your comment. Remember this video is an older video... “Expensive par-cooked rice” was bought in bulk and was a HUGE bag from Sam’s. I used both pre-broken spaghetti because I had it and when I ran out of it I did use broken spaghetti which worked wonderfully. This project was also about using the spices a person would most likely already have in their pantry to make, as the title states, inspired kits for their pantry to give them some options. I do appreciate the discussion and in the end, especially with how inflation has impacted all of us, every viewer has to glean from older videos what works for their family in today’s environment. Have a great Labor Day and blessed week.

Why do you have to be so negative friend. Shes giving you an option for rice-a-roni. Shes not giving you instructions on how to make a rocket engine. Something that might tickle your taste buds a little. Break your own spaghetti huh... lol... Have you ever had arthritis so bad that you can barely hold a fork. Try breaking a box of spaghetti with that pain. Parboil taste better to me than the regular rice does. So, I use parboiled. It is also better for you than the regular stuff. You probably haven't even tried her recipe to see if you even like it. Sometimes, the few extra cents you spend is well worth it. Maybe give it a try before you condemn people for what they do. Then again, maybe you like the cheaper stuff. Some folks don't.
