DIY CHATEAU FLOOR MAKEOVER!

It seems that we've gone back to 19th century French life at the chateau, as I spend the day collecting firewood, renovating the floors on my hands and knees, and polishing the brass. Another log burner is triumphantly installed, and Yorick cooks a French feast...

@@MissRubyTuesday61 No I didn't use the same. I used Bartoline boiled linseed oil with white spirit. I have used these for years and it works fine but don't make the mistake of adding too much oil as it will take ages to dry. I don't wax polish mine, just a dry mop to buff them up. It will last for years. Some people recommend using raw linseed oil and turps. Hope this is useful. Julia

Floor looks great. Lovely to see everyone just doing their own thing. I can’t wait to get a log burner, I live in an old house. Roll on spring to see all the beautiful tulips 🌷 ❤ poor Amaury missing Nattie bless him ❤

Thank you Stephanie, so wonderful, I was at another church today and found someone else watches the videos as well. It is so wonderful. Enrich, I know, feels so close to his ancestors there. God bless him. He may come sidereal getting a Chateau one day. Love the way you all keep up with the husbandry of vegetables and plants. When mother sees how warm it is she will be so happy, or has she seen it yet.

Stephanie your polishing the tiles is hard work but how beautiful it will be once the wax is polished at the end. The new fireplace is stunning in the grand salon. Aumery is such a gentleman and your young French chef & volunteer Yorick ( spelling?) is just so sweet.

Love it when you potter around the chateau Steph. ❤️ The floors look really lovely- great job!! The weather in Melbourne is unseasonable too, switching between rain, storms, humidity and chilly. 🕊💕
