DIY BED DRAWERS - Level Up A Small Bedroom!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

These huge, modern drawers are easy to build and add a TON of storage under an existing bed frame! In this video, I built simple bed risers from 1x2 construction lumber to get over 12 inches of clear space under our Ikea bed frame, and built four rolling drawers that are 48 inches long, 17 inches wide and 10-1/2 inches deep to hold all of our folded clothes!
The drawer fronts extend the full length and height of the bed frame, and are made from 3/4" baltic birch plywood. The top edge of each drawer front is cut at 45 degrees, which gives us some super classy hidden drawer pulls. I love this European look, and feel very safe without the shin hazard of exposed drawer pulls!

Some good freehand circular saw skills there Morley. I think the drawers are now worth more than the bed...

Haha yeah you’re probably right - I was considering building a whole new bed, but it seemed a little wasteful/unnecessary as this one works just fine!

Thanks, Justin! For sure - Penny finds enough stuff to play with in the middle of the night without me making extra things for her to swat!

Nice work. A lot of well thought out choices and a great example of how you can still achieve good results with limited tools and space

Thanks so much 😁 Of course you can always throw stuff under the bed but drawers make it a 1000x more positive experience to access the stuff!
