Not the way I normally do it but there’s a thousand ways of doing it right. It is a beautiful piece of functional art very pleasing to the eye, thanks for sharing 🙏
I initially loved the handle and the staining job....but had to stop watching when the wedging started. OMG - as a traditional axe lover that was too hard to watch. Ouch that was bad !

Amen. Way too much band saw ruined that IMO and it got worse from there. Such a shame because he did a great job restoring the head and designing/working the rest of the handle.

Beautiful! I like the idea of a big knob on the end of the handle to act as a counterweight and to keep it from flying out of my hand too

Nice effort. Will do great as a wallhanger, you'll get the fitting better next time!
Beautiful piece, Hassan. I was little turned off from that lava stain at first, I thought it was too red, but I'm really impressed with the color and at how beautifully it shows the grain.

Richard Bonner no, it really won’t it’s just not made correctly
@1EliPrice
5 жыл бұрын
Richard Bonner It will last as long as you say it will only if he doesn’t actually use it for its intended purpose... I would have made it a super snug fit and the end where the axe head fits, so it stuck out two inches past the end of the axe head. make my wedge cut, then beat on the bottom end of the handle till it drove it to the area I wanted it. Then I would have trimmed off the excess to about an inch and drove my wedge so that it bent outward over the top of the axe head, then take off the remaining excess till it still had a little under an inch still protruding. If this person intends to actually use this axe, that head is coming off in a few strikes.

@@HABU what was that epoxy stuff you put In?
Excelente video. ¿Que son los componentes quimicos que usa para cubrir la cabeza del hacha? ¿Es resina epoxi? Gracias.
Recently did an axe head like this and I was really just glad I had a working axe at the end. Haha

You need to leave a couple of extra inches on top to get a good fit. You had plenty of wood to work with. Just need to put in the time to get it as good as possible

VERY NICE! Can you tell me what do you use in the head? is it epoxy resin?? I even have an old axt-head in my garage so i will have a try too :D
Any problems with the head loosening ? or still hold up?
Hallo Hassan!

Some of those fast motion clips made me laugh out loud lol... very nice work. Not a huge fan of the wedging process, the stain, or the heavy use of the belt saw... but if i end up being half as good as you are ill be more than happy. Very nicely done.
