DIY Automated Glass Bottle Cutter
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
There are lot of methods to cut glass bottles, but non of them could make the job easy and effortless as this Automated Glass Bottle Cutting Machine. It could slice bottle after bottle in seconds!

My first thought: OMG I need this! My second thought: Wait, why am I cutting bottles again? :)

Couldn't hurt to purchase all of the parts anyway, just in case. 😅
man is using 100% of his brain, amazing project, i especially love the attention to detail and safety.
I just got done building one of these based on this video and it does in fact work. The line that everyone says is a score line is made by the bottle rubbing on the heating element. That said, I think you do get better results if you do score it. I still have some tweaking to do, but it does work like the video.

yep. i havent made one and i know what that line is... everytime ive scored, ive ended up with bad cuts. hardest part is the actual smooth continuation, and the golden rule of glass cutting is ONE pass. i prefer a single strand of nichrome and rely on the thermal shock as it heats rapidly.
Great job!
Good design. Elegant and illustrates principles of alignment and jig construction. Well done!! If I build one of your units I would add a small ruler to the base, for more repeatable cuts.
Thats badass
I can see the score line made with a glass cutting scribe first. The bottle doesn't have one, then it appears : @9:07 and is NOT in the same parallel as the heating coil. The coil on it's own cannot give such a precise cut - at least be honest about it.

Very well and thoughtfully done! Thank you!

Magnífico proyecto maestro, gracias por compartirlo, un cordial saludo y por supuesto un merecido like desde Narón (Galicia)👍🤓😜
Great work bro❤
Fantastic !!!
I think the “score line” people are seeing is the hot wire smearing onto the very hard glass. This glass-cutting trick is repeatable with a string soaked in fuel around a glass bottle, lit on fire, and then cracked with cold water. The thermal shock cracks the glass along the line of greatest tension, which is the very hot, thin outside line where the string burned or the coil rode.
Very impressive!! Love your creativity. Makes crafting easier for sure. Thank you for sharing.

Спасибо за интересный урок, я резал стеклорезом, но ваш способ быстрее и производительнее
This was cool! Thank you!
I enjoyed this video
Brilliant. Thank you for sharing.
Great job
"Just Insane" - You are correct. The bottles obviously have a cut-line from a glass cutter scribed into them near the where the heater wire contacts the bottle. The wood-working looks nice though.

he didnt fake it - cheap as fuck to make it and try it - it works - im not sure what application your cut bottles will have tho.... not many countries make the fuckers any more so why? just why? dipshits... (things that no longer generate revenue in RL are shared with ppl on youtube... gold mining gem mining ect... first they strip the mines and when it is no longer profitable they make money off of telling you how to do it)
Most impressive is the score line on the bottle that will remain unnamed....
questions why wood you want to cut a glas bottle

To make drinking glasses out of them… Duh.
it's an amazing tool! cool!
Молодец ,старается вот только стеклорез не кто не отменял)
Really good 👍🏼
But what would you use it for? I would make some nice drinking glasses, just need some water, fine sand paper and time
Wonderful
Cool project - this is actually one of the ways lens manufacturers cut up slabs of high-grade optical glass.
Why cut the glass before?
Nice! :)
I wonder if some narrow guage nichrome wire like they use to cut styro foam would work to make spiral cuts on a bottle,
@DewPrototype
2 ай бұрын
There is some videos on YT about that, its a bit hard, coz every bottle has it own internal tension, what are unpredictable cracks glass when youll try to break it, and usually finishing "spiral cut" is done manualy with some diamond tools
Does the cut come out sharp?
Awesome
Great idea and very tidy work.
My minds blown
I have a rather stupid question. I tried this kind of heating wire as well, even smaller ones rated for 1000W. But without stretching it first, it would directly short ciruit when applied with 230V. You measure only 400W that is quite a substantial difference. Is this only due to your regulator that stops too much power going in?
What is the brand / model of that tubular crimper?
If you change the position of the heating elements, youve got the beginnings of a rotisserie machine!
Man, that's just brilliant! Really well done!!! 😃 Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

Great work dude 👏👏
This was extremely satisfying to watch
I made this. It works flawlessly. Naysayers sre flat out wrong.
Why doesn't the glass break either from the heat or from the water
Where do you get the silicate block?
How do you round the edge so you can drink out of it?
@Adeathwishtolive
Ай бұрын
Using sandpaper, gradually decreasing the coarseness/ increasing the fineness until you achieve a very smooth finish. Lots of work unless you build a jig to do it for you. If you do want to drink out of it, make sure you sand the edge off in a well ventilated area and wear a particulate filter mask because glass dust is not good for you to breathe, and thoroughly clean the freshly rounded edge
Where can I buy it with good shipping to CZ?
I wonder how thin the ring can be made?
Well Done Thanks for sharing

My English is not good, so I watched it several times to understand what is explained in this video, thank you
Probably the nicest glass bottle cutter we've seen. We shared this video on our homemade tools forum last week, and people really liked it. 😎

A very nice and beautiful build. I like how clean, functional and organized your tool is. Thanks for an enjoyable video
I guess the bottle is already scratched with diamond cutter
This device is as beautiful as it is useless.
So are we just going to pretend we don't notice you scored the bottle with a diamond cutter and then attempt to conceal this by cutting up the footage? Why lie about this?
Круто капец !
Piles bro piles
Admit that the bottles were previously scored with a glass cutter. You can see the outline. Translate with Google
😳👍
He forgot to mention to score the glass first………🤔🤨
We can see the scribe line...🙄
Dude you can see the score line. This bottle was obviously scored first.

so were just going to pretend it wasn't scored?
🤨 ~ April fools joke/fraud, he has to scratch the bottle before putting it on this rotary heater thing, and doesn’t show that? Have I been click-bated with the fake thumbnail? 😡
@x_and_e

There are multiple projects of similar construction. Just search.
There’s an obvious scribe line. What do you gain by misleading people?
Any bottle cutter knows that cold water on a brush wont work. Ive deep scored the heated area with boiling watet, dipped it in ice water and not have it break, then do hot again and it will break clean, l doubt this is going to brak this clen by brushing on that little amount of cold water
Impressive work but… whats the point of this machine?
Man, you cheating, I see that video is "glued" when you cutting bottle from "top" view, and also I see on side view there is glass cutter instrument lines onto the bottles.
@swatcat7928

The line is from the friction with the heating coil.
@DewPrototype

@swatcat7928 you think that this polished wire is harder than glass? BTW, this method is working well, but it really hard to get that nice finished cut surface without prescratching it with tool. If you try to do something similar you'll discover that "crack" will be not so even and clean.

Yup. There's a score line. This is BULLSHIT.
You score it before putting it over the heated coil for more precision. He didn't include this step in the video because you don't need to score the bottle to achieve a cut, but it helps achieve more accuracy in the result of the cut, as mentioned above. Maybe do a little research before slandering a good product.
You drew it with diamonds before. Who are you kidding? If you hit it on the table after drawing it with a diamond, it will still be cut in the same way.
Obviously the score line was omitted from the video until the cut. REPORT THIS VIDEO FOR MISINFORMATION- click on the "..." below the video>Report>Misinformation
proč jste to nejdřín naříznul, na lahvy je to vidět
For the ones who say this is fake and has a cutter line, I disagree. Watch other bottle cutting videos, and you will see that 1. a cutter line looks differently, and 2. someone demonstrates the same principle with a burning cotton thread. I’m quite sure, that the line we see is the hot wire rubbing on the glass, potentially rubbing off some metal (as it is hot it is softer) and depositing it on the glass. Also, I do not see a motive to cheat. If needed, he could easily add a cutter extension to the construction and let us know about it.
Probably should have mentioned how dangerous that silica dust is, silicosis is not a disease you want to mess around with, those white blocks are great, but they’re also dangerous for your lungs
🤪
You are not parting the glass that easily without scoring it first.
We used to put water in a bottle wack it on an oven element and eventually it would crack at the water line( usually) it was quite a regular thing we did as we needed open bottom bottles for a ummmm .... pastime called "spotting " that we do here in New Zealand... Kiwis know what I'm talking about 😉
Firstly why do you want to cut bottles, secondly, who would spend hours and buy all the tools to make something that cuts bottles
Really..? All that work for a 1 April joke..?!🤦🏻♂️
Развод для колхозников 😂
It'll be better video.. 👉

Cool .... but a lie! 😠
just fake
Fake video. I don't mean the method is 100% unreal for glass cutting But I can see the editing to hide the actual diamon blade cuting (it is even more obvious in 0.25x speed} The crack is not even allign with heater coil or painting brush Also, the thumbmail is FAKE It's different with the actual footage.
