DIY Artificial Turf Installation

Artificial Turf installation using Home Depot products and all manual tools. I live in Woodland Hills, California.
Total cost for a this project was about $360.
Turf - $150
Weed barrier - $20
All purpose stone - $35
Decomposed Granite - $50
Silica Sand - $20
Landscape edging - $20
6 inch nails -$60
I tried getting bids and most companies have a $2000 minimum. So DIY it is!
I did this over a course of a few weekends but most of the work after prepping the subbase took about 6 hours on a hot Saturday in the Valley.

Best instructional video I’ve seen on this type of project. I’m about to try and do this, this summer. Is there anything that you would do different please let me know

I would have been more strategic in nail placement. definitely didn't need as many nails as i put in. There's a method where you start in the middle and you use a star method as you work your way towards the edges spacing the nails out more and more than you secure the edges.

So you don’t need a compactor?

for this size, a manual tamper was enough. you could rent a compactor if you want to save 30 mins of manual labor.
