Vitamin C is one of the view ingredients that's been proven to repair sun damage and build collagen. But don't buy a Vitamin C serum from the store - Vitamin C breaks down when it's exposed to light. You it fresh and made at home!
Materials:
¼ tsp Vitamin C powder // goo.gl/vifK6n
6 tsp distilled water
1 tsp aloe vera // amzn.to/2Stbi37
Opaque glass bottles // amzn.to/2DamKXB
Steps:
Measure out ingredients into a bowl and mix.
Sterilize a opaque dropper bottle in boiling water.
Use a funnel to pour ingredients into bottle.
Fill dropper and dispense into clean hands.
Rub together and massage onto clean face and neck.
Make this solution weekly for optimal freshness.
And if you don't have time to make your own Vitamin C serum, check out this awesome alternative from goPure Naturals // bit.ly/2E2APZZ

    In your video on Vitamin C Serum from 2013, you have different measurements for the ingredients. In this video, it's 6tsp H2O and 1tsp Aloe. In the 2013 video you recommend 4tsp H2O and 2tsp Aloe. Which one is right and was it updated because of the pH?

    hi Sophie, I just made this vitamin C using frankincense hydrosal instead of distilled water. It is ok right? Rest of the ingredient is as you have mentioned. The serum has a very light consistency , like water actually! and gets absorbed by the face very very fast without leaving any moisture. It feels more like a toner? Is it how its suppose to be?

    hi there are about 7 different types of ascorbic acid. They all have different pH levels which means they have different compatiblities with different ingredients. The most effective ascorbic acid is L-ascorbic acid and it should be used only in a serum with only a few other ingredients. I buy the one I sent you from Ebay and tested it with its pH. BUt if you dont feel good about that you can buy from a company in Arizona, US called skin actives. They have a great one that is only a couple dollars more. I dont know where they ship to

    I just add the vitamin c powder to my moisturizer before applying ..like you showed in your old videos... that should be okay right?

  • @WaterspoutsOfTheDeep

    @WaterspoutsOfTheDeep

    9 жыл бұрын

    +dhodi123 Of course it's ok. There just might be slightly less absorbed because it may not fully microscopiclly dissolve which isn't a problem whatsoever. So there is absolutely nothing wrong doing that. Just make sure it is pure 100% L-Ascorbic acid and don't get the powder wet and have it sealed to avoid humidity. If it turns yellow or orange then it's gone bad usually from moisture. That's all to know.

  • @stickapot3623

    @stickapot3623

    9 жыл бұрын

    +WaterspoutsOfTheDeep NO you cannot JUST add l-ascorbic acid into a moisturizer. L-ascorbic acid is active at a pH of 3.5 and does NOT work at a higher pH level. Lotions pH levels are much higher. It will oxidize when combined with a lotion. Furthermore, if it is not at 3.5 or lower it can produce protease enzymes, which LEADS TO PREMATURE AGING. If you are going to add vitamin C to a moisturizer you need a more stable form of vitamin C such as Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate provided it is properly formulated with specific lipsomes and oligomers. Why don't you actually read true medical findings and reports and STOP giving people BAD advice which can destroy their skin and waste their money. I am so sick of people like you replying to people as if you are an authority on the subject and everything you say is in contrary to every single medical finding that exists on vitamin C. Start by learning the different types of Vitamin C, why they exist and how they react to different ingredients and for God sakes start using pH strips. SMH

    Stickapot Oh please, if that was the case most any vitamin C consumed would become "oxidized." Where do you get this oxidized form isn't utilized anyways? Or that it is inert? Or that in the time it is applied it would be ineffective? You add l-ascorbic acid to baking soda dissolved in water and you get sodium ascorbate which the body uses also. Do you also realize how readily vitamin C is recycled in the body too? Hundreds of times. Especially since it is closer to it's preferred form L-dehydroascorbic acid DHAA in the skin as L-ascorbic acid. Also if you are going to be adding a C to a oil based product you'd want to start with BVC7 a stable oil soluble Vitamin C ester using a palmitic acid. Maybe take your own advice and think before you speak and look up on the actually biological function first.

    +WaterspoutsOfTheDeep Every single time you type something more of your ignorance comes forth. You live in a world where you dismiss all basic chemistry and how how different chemical properties react to each other. Viable vitamin C products are stabilized to remain effective for a certain time span dependent on what it was formulated with in a product. Hard to make sense of anything you are saying "Where do you get this oxidized form isn't utilized anyways?" An oxymoron. If something is oxidized it DOESNT WORK, the word itself means that! You are the fool, that told this person to use L-ascorbic acid in a lotion. Which will never ever be effective and can cause damage. NOW you are saying to use an Ester C. NOT WHAT YOU SAID BEFORE, IS IT?!??! You have made blanket comments that you can just add l-ascorbic acid to lotions now you are trying to rescind that? Or what are you trying to say. Your bad/wrong information is muddled and a complete disservice to people trying to figure out DIYS. You never even consider pH levels. You are just another moron here, wasting peoples' time and money.

    +WaterspoutsOfTheDeep and you cant just turn L-ascorbic acid into a viable ingredient for lotion by just adding baking soda!

    There is a lot of WRONG information in this video! I find it annoying that people make these videos and have no idea what they are talking about. 1. DO NOT USE ascorbic acid, U NEED L-ascorbic acid for your serum. BIG DIFFERENCE. 2. The serum must be at a pH of 3.5 or less or it wont work. 3. Is Vitamin C at the same ph level as the aloe vera used in this serum? If not which ingredient is being cancelled out. You have no right to be spreading half information. U ARE NO EXPERT!

    +Stickapot Because of your comments, I went to 'Making Cosmetics, Inc' website and found they have a recipe for making L-Ascorbic Acid Serum. Thank you for cautioning us!
