Just a warning- you should not vacuum out through the air holes covered by the pallet from the key, some vacuums produce much more pressure than the reeds & valves (on the other side of the holes) are designed to take in use, which can lead to bending or cracking of either and a reed or valve is much harder to fix or replace than a key.
Very nice video - use of a safety pin as a 'spring' is very nice idea. However I have used a a small paper pin inserted in the space in the treble wooden board , twisted it downward at about 5 o'clock position and put in a very small rubber band between the treble shaft and the pin - and it worked fine. Give as many twists to the rubber band as it becomes almost similar to the 'bounce' of the original spring. Have tried it a lot successfully on my 12 bass Pietro piano accordion( way back in 1950s- as a teenager accordion player) when the springs cracked and spindle could not be taken out. Caution , the rubber bands tend to break after some time, you may keep replacing when required. However replacing with metal spring or a safety pin is a better option as explained in the video . Warm Regards.
Thanks this maybe helpful for me in the future that I bought an old 1940s-1950s acordian of one stuck key.
parquet-floor-ideal for such difficult repairs !
youtube masterpiece! loved watching it... now I'm gonna fix my accordeon : )
That accordion is gorgeous.
I have the exact same model!
if you push the axle by 1cm by pushing it with another axle and remove it with a screwdriver, it would be much easier and would not bend the axle.
Very good but remember to number the keys so you know the order they are put back in , and be careful when you pull the rod out as the keys are often Spring loaded and will pop out.
I've also got an Hohner Student IV but my base button is stuck. Hopefully I find out a way to repair it.
ремонт на полу это круто!
Nie udało mi się wyciągnąć druta 😢 mam Weltmeister i podobno wyciąga się on od połowy klawiatury więc przepychanie go z drugie strony nie wchodzi w rachubę.
You're not gonna play a tune for us???? Well done.
Nice

Splendid work. Thanks for sharing. I have a question. If the cloth comes loose what type of glue do you use to reattach it?
