I would be interested in how the breaker panel is wired for a generator only system. I am not sure if the ground and neutral should be bonded. If I had grid power coming from the utility the neutral and ground would be bonded.

Coax still has uses. My local cable company still uses it to deliver their product. I seen security products that run on it too. Better to put the infrastructure there for future ease of use. I every time I opened a wall I try to put cat6 in at least one box and it's made life easier over the years.

I'm still so confused lol. I wanna run my 30amp plug to my shed with the twist so I have more power. I'm only gonna be running a window ac unit maybe to outlets and a led shop light. Do you have a parts list for something like this?

I’d love to help you out but I only know the basics. You’d probably be best consulting with an electrician. I’m actually a plumber by trade. Before I started wiring my cabin I talked to a couple of different electricians that were on some job sites I was working on, they advised me the easiest way to wire my Cabin for my needs. Sorry, I can’t help more. Good luck with your project.

Would the pigtail method not work for a gfci circuit?

I am not sure I had nothing but problems with my GFI . Eventually I removed it and put in a regular outlet because my generator has a GFI on it. After talking to the electricians that advised me they thought it would be best just to remove it. They said the generators GFI would protect me. Once I start using the AC power I think I am going to put out a revised video

HEY KARL, I WOULD INSTALL THE PHONE JACK. HYPOTHETICAL SCENARIO: INTRUDER(S) BREAK IN, YOU TELL THEM: "GET OUT OF MY CABIN OR I'LL CALL THE POLICE"! THEY SAY: NO YOU WON'T, YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE A PHONE! YOU SAY: "OH YES I DO! LOOK AT THE PHONE JACK ON THE WALL"! HE (THEY) IMMEDIATELY REALIZE YOU ARE NOT BULL SHITTING AND LEAVE. GREAT JOB, ALL LOOKS GOOD! CHEERS!

I agree. Would at least put a $5 handset on there. If nothing else it'll be a good spot to set a flash light.

I didn't see how your hooking up your panel.... You have a 110 feeding a 220 box? How does that work with one power leg vs 2. Or are you just back feeding through a 110?

Farm Life Off Grid with Robert and Oksana I’m not using the box really for anything but a junction box right now. I installed it on rough just in case if anyone in the future wanted to hook up to the grid. I figured that way no one would have to go through the problem of opening up walls again. So in short, I’m actually just making a glorified extension cord. Most of the power I am going to be using will be coming off of the DC, I have a 2000 W inverter that I am going to install on a future video

@@karlsoffthegrid1378 that's makes sense! My plan for ours is to have our breaker panel power cable go to an off shore marine switch, one side will go to a 220 hardwired inverter and the other a 50 amp generator cord. Then it's just a flip of a switch and remote start the generator to charge the bank and run the house.
