Classic radio! Very nice project. I think those 5w block resistors are wire wound, so they will be reactive at RF. Appears not to have mattered. Well done! Having the dipole up so high makes a big difference.

cool project, i only figured lately what to look for in power ampl, which was voltage recovery, the IRF610 5V/nS means it can tolerate up to 1Ghz before distortion mess the carrier sigal. also the probe is for stationary waves to make sure the are in the right places on the antenna

This is awesome friend! Do you have a schematic on a receiver? I'm trying to learn how both work to better trouble shoot them.

Fixed value pre-built inductors are easily available for values you have used. They have better tolerance compared to manual wire-wound coils. In commercial equipment, toroids and wire-wound inductors are used where availability is an issue or value is too odd to be found. Any how, your project, your wish!

I'm having trouble getting the right voltage at the second stage. I used the 2n2222 at the oscillator but got it to work so the output is around 1V but I'm only getting around 1,4V at the output from the BD139. Any idea what could be wrong?

try changing the resistance of resistor R4 to less than 10k. Connect the BD139 emitter to ground. Connect the BD139 emitter to ground through a 30 Ohm resistor and a 100 nF capacitor.

@@Kositsyn83 Thx very much for replying. I tried putting 2x 100 ohm resistor and the 100nF capacitor from emitter to ground. I do get a sort of sine wave at 10 Volts but at 2,8 Mhz :/ Edit: I messed around with the values of the components again. I found that by decreasing the value of the 100nF capacitor, the frequency increases but the voltage decreases. Also I found the whole oscillator changes frequency, not just the output of the bd139.

The 2N 2222 transistor can be easily used for 27 Mhz frequency. It can even be used easily in electronic circuit applications up to 100 Mhz. The problem you have with resistors is actually related to the manufacturing types of resistors. If you use resistors that show inductance and capacitance due to the manufacturing method, these inductances and capacitances will unfortunately behave as if there are coils and capacitors in Series and parallel with the resistor. Their values are also related to the production processes of the circuit element. To solve this problem exactly, you have to search for 'suitable resistors for RF'. You should work with the smallest resistors of inductance and capacitance. This is how you should make your supply specifically. I wish conveniences.

No, this transmitter is designed for transmitting sound on CB. And it isn't a receiver

Why don't you play music? Also the AM is distorted. Not perfect. Add negative feedback from RF output to an opamp in the audio section

In United States this is how we write 13,5 volts: 13.5 volts,we use a dot not a coma. Again thirteen point five volts 13.5 volts
