Not bad dude! Love the variable speed and all the long flat space on top. You could put a table under that and be multifaceted.

Often knife sharpeners have that and it allows you to easily sad radial surfaces without creating flat spots but your idea would work but it’s already viable use

I bought a cheap chinese made mini belt sander using 12v motor for lure making. I made a modified to it so i can put some kind of box under it and put an adapter port to connect a vacuum cleaner. I would say it suck almost 90% of dust. I am allergic to dust but love woodworking especially making fishing lure. That belt sander on video would be awsome if complete with dust extractor.

I'm trying to make my own from scratch. One question, why do you go with adjustable belt angel rather than the table?

Both options are useful. I am building a second grinder and am planning on building an adjustable table/rest as well.

The top unsupported part is great for shaping axe and hammer handles

It’s a tool. Screwdrivers also dangerous if you are dumb enough to not know how to use it the correct way. 😂
