@TheSRalston Actually this version IS live--recorded at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland in 1978. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have seen the Dregs play live in a bar in Augusta, GA in 1976 when I was going to college--they were absolutely phenomenal!

how many kno Steve is now guitarist 4 deep purple,after Kansas and a bunch of other gigs saw the dregs in ny took my brother who is a pro musician was super impressed with the performance

Sorry for the 6 year delay. No Steve Morse Alternate picks everything. It's actually kinda unbelievable how well he can alternate pick arpeggios and string skipping legato. He's actually the only guitar player I've seen pick with such precision and punctuation.

@@_J3RK_ and with another one year delay: John Petrucci played much alternate picked arpeggios in his former years. Nowadays Martin Miller is up and coming. Watch his Deep Purple medley if you haven't. It's really mindblowing.
