A pedant's perspective: The L86 being a "Light Support Weapon" is just British terminology. L86, RPK and the M27 IAR are the modern equivalent of the Automatic Rifle concept, which started in WW1 with the M1915 CSRG "Chauchat" and M1918 BAR. The RPK can have a 75-round drum, but that's for the 7.62x39mm variant and not the 5.45 ones we have in game. As for the topic at hand: I feel like the more suppression-heavy guns would be handy in a team environment. Having someone else CC targets out of cover for you, or you suppressing targets so your teammates can clean up. I know it's not ideal, but I think it'd be fun. Maybe if the game was designed more along those lines...

Thank you for compiling this data. Your results mostly match my experience with these weapons. The one surprise for me is how poorly the Dare/GR9 faired. Perhaps that is because the Dare needs a Pulse-based build in order for it to be effective. Now I can clear these under-performing LMGs from my Stash. Thanks again.

I've done a legendary with the bullet King before. It works extremely well with a negotiators dilemma build. That's the only time it works though. You have to literally almost triple the damage output in order for it to be any good lol. The no reloading works incredibly well in that situation with that build and pretty much only then. I also have a build with the classic m60 that hits for a million a crit, 330k for a non crit. They don't get suppressed because they are already dead 90% of the time. I have a pestilence build that hits for over 1.5 million a tick with full stacks. I love LMGs. They do kinda suck though compared to just about every other weapon type. I just like them and have found ways to make them work. Screw the meta. The meta is boring. LMG go brrrr. Also have a like.

I haven't played in a long time but the impression I always got of LMGs was that they were a substitute assault rifle for players who died too many times to enemies who's health slightly exceeded their mag capacity.

At the 3 min mark, just wana say, the ‘shit king’ is a right laugh with trauma and the gear that gives you hollow point. Perhaps not the best, and maybe an element of redundancy, but its fun!

I always like L86 in division 1. I use it for long to mid range combat cause the accuracy and stability is pretty good. With good damage even though low mag but hey it gets the job done.

My Bullet King has been stashed in my gear mule forever after an hour of use.

When running LMG's I almost always take the attack drone to push them out of cover

great testing! I been one to try test as well about the pesti and does it hit harder with damage to armor or damage to targets out of cover or both ?

I'm surprised to see Black Friday towards the middle with the talents activated. That thing seems to hit like a truck. It's cool to see frenzy so high up there, but unfortunately that talent in practices feel more like a "win more" talent. By the time it is up and running, you've already gone through an entire mag and most likely killed what you're shooting at. I think if Frenzy lasted the full duration of the mag, it would be more reliable. LMGS are really cool man. I wish they had more value and that suppression wasn't more of a disadvantage than an advantage. To me, there's very few reasons to run a LMG, and the -best- reason would be to use a ND build that can utilize a huge magazine to knock out several targets at a time. At least, that's where I've found the most use out of the big boys.

I dont think you ever mentioned what talent to put on LMG or when you did your testing with Stoner or L86 what the weapon talents are. We can see in the video that the L86 has the strained talent on but did all your LMGs (none named, none exotic) have the same weapon talent?

SO, with the RPK having a 65 rounder, but then make the 3rd stat Mag Size and talent Strained, would it not then outrun the L86 in DPS? I ask this as your testing is much more thorough than mine, my test being mag-dumping into the ass of a raid Chunga, I find this combo to be the only one that not only kills the fat bastard, but also does it in 1 mag. I'm testing it with Health Damage now though, as I haven't done that one yet.

Burst DPS is just RPM / 60 x damage. So mag size has no effect on the Burst. Mag does effect the Sustain DPS, but ther eare better way to do it than using the 3rd attribute for mag size.

Yes. 2 of the kills were in cover from the bleed.

Do you know what's worse than suppressing an elevated enemy so you can't kill it? - A teammate with an LMG supressing him for you. On a time trial. Edit: Oh and if the GPM makes your teeth rattle, isn't that technically brushing your teeth with sonic waves? (supposed to be a joke.).

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately. Trying to make a new build. I rarely use LMG’s so I thought I’d you with it. Suppressing…. Man does this annoy me. I looked at build on YT for reference. And one of the builds I’ve seen was someone aiming for suppression in order for the drone to kill the enemy behind cover. Ok I can see that but that seems like quite a lot of waiting. Like yea you’d kill who you can and send the drone to the suppress target but doesn’t seem like a wise choice.

test it with Pestilence, longrange target to 25 meters, elite, dps tgt to 20 meters elite. the ticks will bounce between the 2 tgts. 1.5mil armor, 1.3mil health. even adding more dmg to health, 1.3mil is what im getting. thats with an EXP 21 Pestilence. Damage to Health isnt working properly ingame. try it with 3x W&H or Hollowman. contractor's, sawyer's, 2 W&H, sacrifice, the gift - for the crit chance/dmg build - for weapon handling/headshot, i use a W&H vigulance and an airaldi mask (running white death) because dmg to health isnt increasing with a 3rd W&H or running a hollowman. i tried a 2nd Yaahl for the 5% weapon dmg, but its not worth it. Sawyer's because that 30% is much more useful than Foxes. Pestilence is all about weapon dmg. i run a crit build and a headshot/weapon handling build. the only difference is if an npc rushes you, shots to the face will stun them more on the crit build than the headshot build. its great solo once your used to perfect glass canon. in great for groups as well, though you will pull all the agro. Mantis users love you. Momento user hate you, your ticks kills everything and the dont get their trophies :P im always running it open world heroic w/all directives & an open group. pestilence has gone through a few nerfs since its initial release. there was a time before the expertise system pesti was ticking for 1.7mil armor and 1.5mil health without any team buffs. oh and know this, pesti stack indicator doesnt show for teammates, but if more than 1 pesti is in group, the buffs stack. so enemy are gitting hit by ALL ticks by the group. Everything melts when there is more than 1 pesti in a group. shhh i dont need another nerf to pesti

I must say bullet king is trash but boy there’s something satisfying about holding the trigger down and not releasing it.

L86 was named M87 in Modern Warfare 2019. IRL, it's one the most terrible guns that ever came out from Britain. British soldiers hated it.

So Bullet King good yeh? 🤡💩 In all seriousness I always thought having DTOC as a native attribute, in conjunction with the suppression mechanic, was a bit paradoxical. On the other hand, you can also see why DTOC is a thing. But yeah, I don't mind some LMGs, but they're hardly a go-to. I remember back in the day, it was all about running around the DZ, hip-firing with the M60. That was ridiculous! You didn't need aim or skill or even much DPS when you had 100+ rounds and the agility of a crack-addled Squirrel.

I like the mk46 because it has a slightly faster rate of fire...550rpm

L86 and rpk are not assault rifles the l85 is the assault rifle
