    Thanks for addressing all of these. I agree on all counts. Something I think is important to remember is that the adam/photon/infinity are all completely dsp based digital devices vs their analog counterparts. With a little tweaking I’ve been able to ‘clone’ all of my other darkglass pedals and that’s fantastic for a few reasons. Workflow is great bc I’m just changing presets and not physical hardware. I can have all of my favorite darkglass pedals on one small board instead of a huge board where I’m turning multiple things off/on. The Bluetooth functionality is a great and seemingly underrated feature. Being able to tweak and practice with one unit on the go is fantastic. Based on dg’s track record with software updates in the past I’m confident that things will be fine tuned and addressed in the future. I’d love to see some live tone demos. It’s fun and interesting to see others process and results.

    A great point! The important thing with the Infinity to me is that it really does work and is easy to use. It's going to replace my rig on a few projects (and on a few it won't replace my current rig) and will definitely be the first thing I pick up if I get called up on a random gig. :)

    My favorite Drive pedal of all time is the standard Vintage Microtubes. It took me alot of tweaking in the Infinity to get close to my VMT settings but Im about 90% there which is more than good enough for Live use. I've owned probably 20+ Drive pedals(5 of which are DarkGlass) and the VMT is just perfect imo. The perfect blend of Vintage and modern without sounding too thin and trashcany like the Microtubes X and some B3K/B7K settings, and not as wooly as many "vintage" sounding dirt pedals.

But when I'm using it as an audio interface via USB, my DAW only picks up very little signal from my bass, the waveforms are extremely small even though I turned the level all the way up. Comparing x7 (x ultra?) with Infinity you are pretty right talking about midle and high ends, better with infinity i agree yes, but i found the work with the compressor under 500 in x7 is better. The fact is that the x7 has this low pass cut, so compressor only work on that...What you think? you think you can apply the work of x7 in this terms to the Infinity? Can Infinity offer a low pass cut like x7?

  • @Paajanenae

    @Paajanenae

    Жыл бұрын

    The multiband mode (distortion modes 4 & 5) on the Infinity assigns the compressor to only the lower frequencies and the compressor is also more adjustable than in the X7 so no problems there!

    Hi dear friend. May I ask a few questions please? while you seem very experienced... I have seen and the other video of yours while you are trying to explain further the unit. However I couldn't still find answers... I am about to buy either the Infinity or the Photon. To tell you the truth I prefer the Photon for my playing-music style. It seems more versatile to me. And the distortion circuits more to my liking. However I need the clean sounds also. I'm not seeking just an overdrive-distortion Pedal. The necessity of the clean sound is vital. 1.) Without any mode selected on the Infinity, there is a total clean studio grade channel. The same I suppose as found on the Photon unit. How that sound is compared to the 1st mode tube like clean channel? Are there huge differences in the sound character? 2.) Is there enough headroom for both of them? 0 mode and 1st mode... 3.) How can someone understand if he clips the signal or not? 4.) On the 0 mode channel (total clean) the compressor is applied in full frequency spectrum. Can I still use the compressor and the eq without any Blend or gain? 5.) When you mess with all the other distortion modes of the unit... The applied "clean" sound when blending is the 0 mode or the 1st tube like mode? Thank you.

  • @Paajanenae

    @Paajanenae

    11 ай бұрын

    The "0 channel" is totally clean and without any coloration to the signal. It's what your bass puts out, which can be desireable but I personally rarely end up with that tone when dialling cleans. The compressor, EQ and cabinet simulation all work on this channel as well. There is no difference between the headroom between channels 1 and 0, but with channel 1 you can use the drive control to emulate a more "pushed" clean amplifier. There is a huge difference in sound between the two, not only because channel 1 is a multiband channel. When blending a clean signal into a distortion, you're blending in the uneffected signal which is the mode 0.

    Hello, I am a Funk / soul / jazz bass player. I really love the multiple functionality and specs (phones, aux, USB interface, DI, low noise ..). I love the specs but I am not sure this pedal would be interesting to use as a clean preamp. I need a preamp to shape my tone through a V4B OR to add a cab simulation when playing through headphones or when recording. What's your opinion ? Coud it fit my needs ? Thanks

  • @Paajanenae

    @Paajanenae

    Using the Infinity as a clean preamp only would definitely be underselling its abilities, I'd perhaps look at the Darkglass Element for your situation! It has phones out, aux, bluetooth, DI, works as a USB-interface and can easily be integrated with other pedals or amps. If you need more shaping, then you can get a separate clean preamp pedal with that, like the MXR Thump or the Darkglass Harmonic Booster 👌

    I'm extremely confused with all these cabinet settings, noise gate settings, etc. All I want to use - are the onboard controllers (compression, drive, tone/era, blend, level). The question is: Is it possible to set let's say Compression in position P1, Drive in position D4, Tone in position T2, Blend in position B5, Level in position L3 and save it all as my preset #1. Then change the settings to Compression in position P3, Drive in position D2, Tone in position T5, Blend in position B1, Level in position L4 and save it as my preset #2. Without involving any other settings. And then just in one click switch between preset #1 and preset #2. Is that possible?
