Dividing rational expressions
Learn how to divide rational expressions. A rational expression is an expression in the form of a fraction, usually having variable(s) in the denominator. Recall that to divide by a fraction, we multiply by the reciprocal of the fraction. The same rule applies when we want to divide by a rational function.
Given two rational expressions, where one is dividing the other. We first turn the divisor rational expression upside down and change the division sign to multiplication sign. Next, we factor all the polynomials and then cancel out all the common factors between the numerator and the denominator. We then multiply the remaining numerators together and the remaining denominators together. The result is the simplified quotient of the two rational expressions.

mr. mclogan you are the MVP my teacher goes way too fast and periods are too short for questions so I always turn to these for help. thanks a ton.

The answer is actually (x-4)(x+3) not (x-4)(x+1)
you are literally the only person that can explain this stuff to me, I feel like imma be back here many times
Your vids are a savior omg 🙏 you go at a good speed and dont talk like your dead inside (like most yt math vids LOL) and it really makes a difference
I dont know if I’m wrong but when you said two numbers multiply to equal 12 but add to equal -1 wouldn’t that be -4 and 3 not -4 and 1?

bro had me second guessing my life when he missed the x+3
Ok how do I do that if one of them is “3x+5”? Can I? Cuz I need to.

Same process?
you scared me at that (x-4)(x-1)
I don't understand why can you divide 2x-1 from both fractions
(x-2)(x+1):(2x-1)(x-2)-(x-4)(x+3):(2x-1)(x+3) (x+1):(2x-1)-(x-4)(2x-1) 5:(2x-1)

Not explaining it at all, too fast
